I have the Steelseries Siberia V2 (black) (Didn't contain sound card) but this has not so decent microphone. For the rest its an awesome headset. But after already 3 weeks my microphone didn't record any sound anymore without any reason. After a month waiting for my new one I already had the same problem in less than 1 week!...... Now I have to wait again 1 month to get a new one and I'm damn sure this common problem will happen very soon again... the wiring inside the microphone aint good....

I just unpacked mine today, it worked fine and all but when I decided to talk to my friends on skype, they kept complaining about the crackling noice in the background, and I told them it was brand-new so I thought it was something going on in my computer, so I switched to my old headset, worked like a charm, use my new Siberia V2, and the crackling continues.

I'm planning on returning it, made in china quality is the utter worst.

This headset's mic will not work with the iphone because the connector is has 3 pins. For a headset's mic to work it has to have 4 pins on the connector. Please thumb this up so people know,

@zankimummeli It depends really. If you already have a good sound card in your computer, you should take the 3.5mm version. The USB version has a sound card built in and will not use the sound card in your computer. So if your sound card sucks, buy the USB version.

A friend of mine told me that if your soundcard isn't good enough the headset won't give 7.1 surround sound. if your soundcard is good enough you're probably better off just buying the jack one.

2 months after buying this headset the mic just stopped working... It still senses that my voice is there, when i talk... But it wont transmit my voice into the game or chat im in, so all everyone else hears from my mic is just noizy and loud

Tried to see if it was my PC that there was something wrong with by plugging in my old headset and testing the mic, but it worked... So it was the headset that broke..

"its just awesome" yea, more like DISTORTION GARUNT33 yo. this headset is quite average really, the razer piranha or ever the 330 logtiech's out perform, the only things it has going for it is the mic retraction, which seeing as its steel series is no big deal as previous models have this feature, and the fact they fold up. No doubt great eye candy. personally after using these for 6mnths or so, sore ears, crap mic response, bass distortion, and mids and highs are practically the same, G35 ftw

Why do "gamers" and/or people who buy these under 100$ headsets always claim they have "amazing" sound quality in games and music? You always get that! Now sure, everyone has their opinion, but why is it that the vast, VAST majority of buyers will claim that the sound quality is very good, when infact the price says it cannot be good. siberia V1 sux, they hurt after 2-3hours of wearing it and i i and dosent like the pillows on them and a separate mic isnt good for me either, Though the sound is OK :P, This V2 just looks amazing :) good improvements think im going for one :D
