  • I'm jelly of anybody who lived in this time era. THE MUSIC. JUST YES.

  • Ahh Swing.....the music never got better(sigh).

  • Captain Glenn Miller also performed "It Must Be Jelly ('Cause Jam Don't Shake Like That)" on the October 16, 1943 I Sustain the Wings radio program on NBC radio with the AAF Training Command Band featuring Ray McKinley.

  • The 1942 studio recording by Glenn Miller, Victor 20-1546, was a monster hit in 1944, reaching no. 12 on the Billboard charts. The record was a massive "crossover" hit, peaking at no. 2 on the Billboard Harlem Hit Parade Chart, which was then the equivalent of the R&B chart. Woody Herman and Johnny Long also recorded the song. Chummy MacGregor co-wrote the music with George Williams.

  • LOVE LOVE IT

  • one of Al Klink's rare solos.

  • By 1942 the band was in full flight on live sessions like this....powerful brass and still great precision....also displayed great shading in the section work.

  • Yup!

  • @4205lr It's Al Klink or Tex Beneke?

  • @edwardconway27 It's definitely Al Klink.

  • It Must Be Jelly ('Cause Jam Don't Shake Like That) was written by Glenn Miller Orchestra pianist Chummy MacGregor and George Williams and was originally released by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra on RCA Victor circa 1942. The posted version is a later live performance. In 1944, Woody Herman recorded this song with lyrics by Sunny Skylar.
