According to the DVD, Darrell started singing this song faster than on record because Alan was always whispering jokes in his ear and he kept singing faster to get through the song without losing it. The crowd loved it and they finally kept it at the fast pace. When Darrell left Alan took over singing it and slowed it down a little to more resemble the original arrangement. Alan actually doesn't have a feel for this song (his only one.)

Also I always thought Sean McCann originally had the lead vocal for this song. And also the fact that Murray Foster doesn't take the lead vocal for this role is a good indication that Darrell Power was better. And I don't know if Kris MacFarlene was always drummer for the band but even when Darrell was with Great Big Sea the drummer was never an official member of the band.
