  • nice video

  • your background looks like mine

  • Witch one should I get a jd or an Oscar I can only get one and I want it to be active and not shy and I want it to look cool and I want to feed it live stuff

  • @BruteCupcake I'll go with the oscar because they pretty cool fish that will always keep you entertained. Both will be shy especially the oscar for couple of days/weeks until they get used to their new tank. Also it comes down to your tank size, if you have a 55 gallon tank or bigger, go with the oscar but if its smaller than 55 go with the jd, but if you go with the jd please go no put it in anything less then a 45 gallon tank.

  • haha its a Green Terror haha look up jack dempsey and tell me if u ever see a JD tat looks like that

  • can i have a electric blue jack dempsey and tiger oscar live together in a 55 they are just around 2.5 inches

  • Comment removed

  • i bought 2 reg tiger oscar they were small when i got them they were house with my 1 firemouth and my 2 jack dempseys all the same size but the firemouth beat the hell out of my 2 reg tiger oscar and they died what is compatibla with fire mouth should i get another firemouth please reply asap

  • @flemmingj1965 How big is your tank? seems like your fish are fighting for territory and in that case i wouldn't recommend adding another fish unless you want them to keep fighting and dieing.

  • i have 2 oscars and a pleco can i put a electric blue jack dempsey in their tank?

  • @RussianSpetsnaz0123 it depends on the size of the tank. If you have at least a 125gallon tank then yes, otherwise no.

  • loving the fish i love JD's and loving the song!

  • Never nice!!!! :]

  • thats not a jack dempsey its a jewel chichlid

  • @mrrosado100 no this is definitely a JACK DEMPSEY. Jewels are much smaller and more vibrant in colors than jacks.

  • @mrrosado100 That's not a JD nor a Jewel Cichlid, that's definately a green terror. Look it up -,-

  • your fishes are wonderful. keep it up

  • you need a bigger tank soon :P

    Take care

  • nice plec at 0:53

    Your oscar is amazing

  • @the4blueturtles thanks, btw the oscar is HUGE now.

  • I have a regular tiger oscar and a Jack Dempsey in the tank.I didn't buy them all at once though.I had the Oscar for about 2 months as a adopted pet.he was 4 inchs when I bought the oscar, now he is 6 inchs. The JD is 4 inchs, they both seem to get along actually. They get their share of food with no issues.

  • @burzumaske20 If you introduced both fish in the tank at different time and there's not even a slight sign of fight or chase, then you got very lucky but you might see the oscar getting greedy as he gets bigger without doubt.

  • @dreamerguy91 Oh I know,I took the chance honestly, everyone does their own thing in the tank. The first two days though the Oscar was chasing him a little, because the JD was the most aggressive fish at the store. The Oscar didn't take shit from the JD at all, since the JD was trying to push the Oscar around. Now they actually hang out at times in both their territory spots. My JD is more of a curious fish,my Oscar is just the type to relax and go hunting for feeder fishes.I love the both of them.

  • @burzumaske20 yeah i was pretty sure there will be some chasing around. The JD might be the most aggressive fish in the store but everything changes when he enters the oscar's home lol. They are both wonderful fish and hope you will enjoy them as much as i am enjoying mine.

  • Thank you so much for the tips :) but my oscars dont eat pellets even if they swallow one they will spit that out in no time, i am feeding them only blood worms as of now and they enjoy a lot eating bloodworms.

beafheart is not available in my city :( i will go for other alternatives after a week.

  • @manupunith You're welcome. I started my oscar on flakes since he was very little and switch to pellets (he didn't quiet like it at first so i left him without food or a day or two and he started eating the pellets). You have to get them to start eating pellets otherwise feeding them nothing but bloodworms will become very expensive in the long run. Cut on the bloodworms, feed pellets and they don't eat it, leave them for a day or two and try again. Don't let them fool you lol.

  • @dreamerguy91 haha sure, i will try it today :) thanks much.

  • i just bought a pair of albino oscars dude.. they are very small still. probably an inch long.. what do i feed them to make them grow fast?

I was thinking of feeding them chicken after some time but the vendor told not to :(

    Please advice!

  • @manupunith best thing to feed them is pellets, they grow up fast trust me. I feed mine crickets, all types of worms, bloodworms & beefheart(from petstore); but their main food is the "HIKARI CICHLID GOLD" all the bugs are only treats like once a months. Just keep water clean and stay away from feeder fish and they show grow fast. Also the tank size is very critical, if they are in a small tank they will not grow as fast as they would in a bigger tank (75 or more).

  • that is a beautiful jack dempsy you got. I had one of those black and blue ones but my regular Jack dempsy ate him.....i am thinking about a bigger tank and maybe getting an oscar...i know he needs a bigger tank than the 35 gal now!

  • @craiggates Thanks! I'm not a fan of the electric jack dempseys, because to me they are weak overrated fish; i like the regular ones (which i have) because they are naturally beautiful fish. I started my dempsey and oscar in a 33 gallon tank but had to get a bigger tank (75 gallon) because they grow up too fast. So get a bigger tank now because you WILL need it. (i had to learn it the hard way, and cleaning such fish in small tank is a pain to keep clean.)

  • i i got a baby albino tiger oscar 2 fridays ago hes 4 cm and yester day i got a jack dempsey hes 10cm and a severum hes 17 cm

  • I'm going to get a JD and some albino convict cichlids in my new aquarium. Its gonna be awesome!

  • my albino oscar just got killed my jack dempsey. And he was over 2 inches bigger :(

  • @soccerkid064 Sorry to hear that but in order to keep oscar with dempsey they must be raised together from day one as babies or the oscar must be much bigger than the dempsey but not to big enough to eat the dempsey.

  • @dreamerguy91 yaeh but they where so little i didnt think it would matter but yaeh i think if i get another oscar it it will be a good bit bigger.

  • @soccerkid064 If they were so little, are you sure the JD killed the oscar or the oscar died from something else? but either ways if you get a new one make sure it's bigger. Also not all fish have the same personality so people are always running the 50/50 chance when placing those fish together because it might work or might not work. When you get the new oscar, take the JD out and change things in the tank around then put oscar 1st and then the JD.

  • @dreamerguy91 im sure the jd killed it he was all torn up and Idk if i will get another oscar for that tank because im tryin to get a 150 gallon tank and then ill just put like 2 13 inch oscars in it.

  • @soccerkid064 yeah sounds like the jd really killed it, but yeah the 150 gal will be sweet for them. Does your fish store sell 13inch oscars??? i'm so jealous because the biggest our stores carry are roughly 4 inches and those are $15 while the smaller ones which are 1.5-2.5 inches are $8.

  • i like the stripes on the albino. Very cool pattern. My albino has just a couple bright orange spots, but mostly albino.

  • Wow I have a 2inch Tiger Oscar (Stanley) He is OBSEESSED with the bubbles in his tank. He sucks them in and spits them out until they pop =]

He also likes to watch TV and oddly enough he turns away and does something else during comercials. =D

  • @WolfJuiceProductions yea my oscar has the habit of doing that too with the bubbles, now that he is much bigger he moves the gavel and piles it on one side of the tank. Oscars are like underwater dogs, their unique personality makes them special.

  • HI, i´m planning on getting a 60 or 80 gallon tank and having an oscar can you tell me what other fishes can i have with it and maybe amount please

  • With a 60-80 gallon tank i would say no more than just two fish. Meaning one oscar and one other fish. You can get a Jack Dempsey or another oscar. The key is to get them the SAME day so that they won't fight as they mature. Skip the 60 and go for the 80 gal because the bigger tank the better. Mine are now in a 75 gal and growing big and healthy. check out my profile to see my recent videos. Got any questions please don't hesitate to ask me. Thanks for stopping by to watch my video :-)

  • dude the music is so emo

  • lovely oscar

  • i have had my oscar fish for 2 months and 16 days and is nowhere near as big as yours is this right?

  • it could be right depending on how big it already was when you 1st got it.

  • @dreamerguy91 Ok thank you i subbed by the way!

  • @MehTehHeh. make sure you do your 40% water changes once a month, should help them grow as well.

  • @jbobz Ok thanks he is now 7 1/2 inches :D but there is another problem, every time i or someone else comes into the room he flares his gills and tries to attack them, the guy at the store said it was because i raised him by himself mostly, is there any way of stopping him doing it and making him a bit calmer?

  • my oscar is always scared to come up to the top of the tank to eat

  • is he/she a new oscar? recently bought oscars usually are pretty scared to come up to the top. Mine was also scared but it took a few days to get used to the tank.

  • it was a new oscar but i had to take it back to the pet store because it wouldnt eat after 5 days

  • whats up one more question.what is the thing called that makes the bubbles? is it a bubble bar? or what and who makes it ?because i want the same one u have its nice thanx

  • No problem! you will need 3 things to have the bubbles. 1) an air pump. 2) Air stone which is the bar that the bubbles comes from. 3) you will need the cord(forgot what its called) but you hook one end of it to the bar and the other end to the air pump.

You can use any brand of airstone and cord but the air pump i have is made by TopFin and i find it ALOT quiet. Just make sure you buy a strong pump, like i have a 30-32 gallon aquarium and bought a pump made for aquariums up to 60 gallons.

  • what size tank do u have? and what kind of pump do u use i like those bubbles

  • it's around 30-32 gallons and the pump is a Topfin 60 gallon air pump, that's why the bubbles look so wonderful. Thanks for stopping by to watch and comment :-)

  • same case goes with my two oscars... their growth are amzingly fast than other fish... i like them

  • yes

  • i used Movie Maker to do it

  • how do you do the slide show at the beginning at 0:20

  • what u mean? are you asking how did i combine pictures with the video? srry i'm confused lol

  • im getting 2 green terrors 2 jack dempseys 2 oscars and 2 jewel cichlids is that going to be a good tank lol? they will be in a 130 gal tank

  • That will be an interesting tank but i can guarantee fights between them. I'm quiet concern about the jewels because they might be picked on b/c of their size. Also i'm not trying to disappoint u but the tank will be too small for them so you might want to start with one of each and see how things go, i know for sure that if you accidently get 2 males oscars and 2 male JD they will do nothing but fight for territory so think about that. Nothing against u but why you want so many fish? lol

  • well i already bought them today they actually are doing fine oscars arent to dominate or anything because they are sorta the top swimming type in my tank and all the others swim below the middle of the tank there is also a bircher and a african brown knife and if they get to fiesty i will seperate them into my my other 100 gal back up tank lol no worries really mate

  • usually if you start them out small together theyll get along when they are much bigger so i hear lol.

  • Cute fish!

  • they get along so well=) 5/5

  • yep but the oscar can get pretty greedy during feeding time.

  • 5/5

  • wow man your are doing a wonderful job with your fellow pets 5/5.

  • Can I get a Tiger oscar and some yellow labs, Acei, red Zebras and such in a 55g, i know there is a pH difference but i am torn between the two breeds of fish an i will aclimate the fish correctly.

  • To be quiet honest i strongly would not recommend this for several reasons: Oscars are South American Cichilds while the other two fish are African Cichild, so there diet is a bit different. Size is a big factor in this because these two fish will be roughly around 5 inches while the oscar can top OVER 12 inches. sooner or later the oscar will see them as food. Also tank size...a single oscar needs at least a 55 to itself so anything less will make him much more aggressive and very territorial.

  • P.s its a 4 x 2 x 2 foot, so its about 110 gallons :)

  • nice fishies, i revamping my 4th, and getting an oscar, a pleco, and i would love an Electric blue jack dempsey, but im not sure if they are too shy for the oscar.

  • Nice!

  • Your Oscar is so cute as well as you Jack Dempsy !!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks

  • ok thaxxx for all of your help

  • no problem

  • can u chek out my fish vid u can find them on my channle and tell me if i could put and oscar some other type of chiclid in there

    let me know plzzzzzzzzzz

  • hey i saw your channel, love the tank. You can fit an oscar and a JD in there just like in my video here but the problem is that you will need a bigger tank because they grow quiet fast. But in order for you to raise and oscar and jd in your 30 gallon u'll have to get rid of all of your fish first otherwise oscar and jd will eat them. I would strongly recommend to get a larger tank 55gallon(but 75 will be way better) for the O and JD and just keep your 30gal as a community tank

  • Your oscar grows fast as well as the jackdempsey.

  • Looks like a really nice tank!!!

  • looking good... dont confuse hith with the normal holes that oscars have in their heads (like small pin-prick holes) as these are their sensory pores used to detect prey in the water.... if these get infected they enlarge and become large holes... mostly this is linked to bad water quality... and in most cases just having perfect water conditions will make this decrease till its cured...

  • thanks but i am pretty sure it's hith, you can kind of see it if you look at the top of his head carefully. I will take a really close picture of him and send it to you, just to make sure...i haven't used any medicines yet, i just do water changes twice a week.

  • Stay away from store bought medications, stick to natural treatments.

    Awesome tank and good luck!

  • very nice tank! i like it

  • very nice mate how have u treated the hith ?? there a few ways to do it try adding a small amount of salt look on the net for dose, RO water is very good for slowing the desies wich makes it esier to ttreat , obviously lots of water changes and so u no there are many different strands of hith so if u have treated it with a specific medicen n it hasnt worked just try again with other stuff but wait a few weeks before treating again

  • as soon as i noticed it i started doing 25-50% water changes twice a week, and i dosed the water with aquarium salt. I don't know if you noticed it but i got a very powerful heater in there which i set it to 84F and it stays that way 24/7. He never showed any sign of weakness or illness he is always active and eats. If you know any medicines that i can buy for him just in case ..i will really appreciate it. when are u going to post new vid?? i really wanna see your oscars

  • great oscar love the color and is growing fast just like mine
