I love this model. I have always wanted spores that look like this, not those egg looking things that so many other people buy and use. This is fantastic, you have inspired me :)
What tool did you use to carve the styrofoam? just a knife?
@Pinkster40K Hmm I'm not sure but I think not. This styrofoam (I'm not sure if that's the correct name in english) is dense and expanding foam is full of air bubbles. If you would carve in that foam it will be full of unwanted holes.
Well if you are good with green stuff it would be awesome! For me it's a waste of putty (ProCreate in my case) as I want them to be cheap and I'm not that good in using modelling putty.
@Pinkster40K Expanding foam filler is too porus (full of air holes) you need some high density foam - like the kind they use sometimes to insulate lofts. You can get it from home hardware stores and it's pretty cheap - like £5 for a slab as big as your torso.
@iglitchhalo2 Thank you very much! It's carved in high density styrofoam (like those blue, pink etc you can see often on YouTube and other sites) with added spikes from acacia tree.
nice job

All styrofoam I use I got for free from an advertising agency. They throw away big chunks of it as for them it's useless.

@GarranTana ok
thanks for the advice!
although what about carving it and then spreading modelling putty over it (e.g. green stuff, plasticine.... blah blah blah)?
