A scientist can indeed "prove a negative" when it comes to a simple device like the one Steorn made. He seems to really believe he has something... I mean, why would he perpetrate a fraud - he would look like a fool (and lose a lot of business) before and especially after he was found out.

I can function quite well while acting 'as if' the law of CoE is 'true'... I regard it is true or a superstition that has its uses... & what I know of people is that not many will tell their Prof. that they see him as being somewhat of a zealot looney..

However, Steorn seem fucked either way... if they are right, then they'll benefit little.. if they are wrong, then they'll benefit little..
