I disagree on one point only. I know MANY master class shooters that win IDPA,Action Pistol, and USPSA matches using Glock pistols. Glock is probably the number 1 represented weapon in IDPA.
to summarize: you pull the trigger when you have to pull the trigger...thats with enough training and your familiarity with your concealed carry. without those factors, i think your chances of living in a life or death scenario are very slim.
You have to be prepare to shoot somebody, but don't think for a second that if you do have to end a life in self defense, that you won't be in therapy for a very long time with pronounced PTSD. I don't like seeing anyone being flippant about taking a life. The author wasn't, he was being factual. I have seen some instructors and permit holders who are, however. I pray to god every day that I NEVER have to use my gun in defense, and I will use EVERY avenue to flee before using it.
You totally and completely misunderstood the video. A crisis could be anything, eg, your in a convenience store late at night and two hoodlums walk in firing...what are you going to do...panic...freeze? Now do you get the point of training?
race gun, what rob leatham owns, a tricked out sprinfield 1911... in... BUMN BUMN BUMN *drum roll* 9MM!! Yes, Sprinfield makes "so called 1911's" in 9x19mm. But makes sense in competition, Glocks aren't really made to be made to the level of a 1911 cause Glocks are DOA (double action only) and 1911's shoot crisp cause that single action hammer that always gives you that's 2-3.5 trigger pull... the 1911 9mm looks good if your not i Cali like me...

A race gun is a tricked out gun for training and competition. A standard Glock can be souped up for this purpose (e.g., lighter trigger, lighter firing pin, lighter plunger).
His point is this: While the gun might win you some matches and make you look good at the range, it's most likely not the gun you're going to carry. Therefore, while you're spending your time training with the tricked out gun, you're not training on the gun (i.e., the carry piece) that you'll rely on to save your life.
This guy should be an actor in some badass shoot 'em up movie! I love his demeanor in the last 10 seconds while he's just casually holding a cigar- I couldn't help but laugh!
Thank you for taking back what you said about glocks not being safe with a chambered round. like edman said, the only true safety is the one between your ears. don't mistakenly squeeze the trigger, and the glock will not mistakenly fire the round. due to glocks 3 internal safety's a glock will not allow the weapon to fire a round off mistakenly, even if the weapon is tossed on the the pavement. glock is number one in safety and self defence, period. wounder why the law uses glock.
I own 3 Glocks. two are 45 acp's and one is a 9mm. They are all loaded and have one in the pipe. Remember a loaded gun is a safe gun. "It's the unloaded guns that will kill you"(dry humor). I have found Glocks to be the most reliable pistols I have ever owned. Also, remember "practice makes prefect". And yes, I meant to say "prefect".
yea i can see that and now that i look at my first comment i know that it is NOT TRUE!!! SORRY about that first comment all i have ever heard is very good things about glocks
Common sense stuff...well done.I study guns two hours per day and this video shares info that is street-wise and vital to the understanding of the dynamics of instant confrontation by an adversary.A weapon without the will to use it is a weakness.Thx Bro...

@sonick808 Sound logic my friend. I am a veteran and a CCW carrier. Nothing beautiful or poetic about harming someone. Even out of necessity.

What crisis ?
What creativity, new ideas ?
This is a fat, unfit, middle aged drone who's only talent is to endlessly repeat a mantra of worthless nonsense... and he carries a machine gun ????
Only in America.

I choose not to beg for a violent sociopath to spare my life; I choose to prepare for the possible need to defend it.
Why would I not ?

@00mickys00 I compete with what I carry, and they accel at both functions. Either an M&P9c, an M&P.45 or a Glock 30.

I think the gun grabbers misinterpret this statement. They think it means that gun owners LIKE to shoot people, which is not what it means.

The Godfather doesn't shoot anyone, he'd get dirty. He has people for that.
pete5668 2 years ago
Before the Godfather became the "Godfather"...he did all the dirty work himself...that was what Godfather 2 was all about.

any gun depends safety with the handlers, either round on the chamber or not,the safety depends how we handle the gun

glocks are not safe with one in the pipe

In that case there would be many dead or injured cops. The only true safety is the one between your ears.

there has been so many reports of cops shooting themselves with glocks
kalzx 3 years ago
Due to shooter error, not weapon malfunction.
