Knack, I'm back! Been gone too long, can't explain. Was frustrated watching some other so called "painting tips".They made me sad and uneasy. Then I watched this video. Believe me I promise never to leave you again, I am a happy bloke again and a wee bit smarter too! Pop stick and soap liquid. Brilliant as usual.
Here in the states the sticks are commonly known as "Popsicle sticks", Popsicle being an ice cream brand name. We can buy them packaged (just the sticks, not the edible) at craft stores and at Wal-Mart's craft department - they are called "Craft Sticks", appropriately enough, and they also come in a wider version which resembles a doctor's tongue depresser, as in "say ah".
Instead of the stick, you can also use the back of a plastic (disposable) spoon.
Gidday mate, unfortunately as far as l know there isn't an extension you can add to the existing caulking gun nozzle. If you want a really neat job you will need to remove the fawcett. Sorry about that.
Do you have any tips on how to caulk where the caulk gun won't reach? I recently had to replace the caulk around my bathroom sink. I didn't want to remove the faucet fixture but it blocks the caulk gun for a 40cm run.
Good to see some Aussie tip going online. Subscribed. The paddle pop stick adds consistency to the edge. I usually use a finger though a paddle pop stick could taste so much nicer.
@queeblogalina Real simple, just go back over with your icy pole stick and they come straight off. I should have done that..oops. Thanks for the comment
Another great way is using an old credit card or gift card

I believe you are incorrect Mr. shaneconlan1, for it is YOUR secret, not OURS.

Nice one. Gives me an excuse to buy an icecream as well. Any one had a crack with a Bubble-O-Bill stick?

Nice tip. But what about the little leftovers up the side of the sink? How do you clean those?

@Threads4you
You have no idea of the pain!! Sticking your head in a freezer, on a bed of needles will give you some idea.
