Fishburn has such formidable acting chops to the point he devours everyone sharing scenes with him. I'll admit, Petersen was great but it cannot be denied Fishburne is an excellent replacement.

Im sory but i have to say it, i dont like CSI. this is just my opinion, and everyones entited to that, but i think it takes all the fun out of cop/detective shows, what happened to chasing the badguys and razzing around in classic fast cars, like sweeney, instead we've been reduced to the boring world of forensic experts, who think they are so clever and witty, and can find out a whole suspects life story just by looking under his victim's nails.
Fishburne is alright but I think they should've gotten to Jeff Goldblum before Law & Order: CI did. He would've fit the roll perfectly, he's great on Law & Order.

I like his genuineness. I hope he stays and I hope the series runs past season 9. It's still interesting story lines too. I know it's a little late, but welcome to the cast Larry.
basically he's an 'authority actor" his best roles -- event horizon (a captain) and matrix (leader of zion) -- are huge authority roles he's GREAT at that character but he's not just type-casted but that's the ONLY thing he can play well it seems. it's Painful for him to play roles where he's not some "captain figure" (even in "21" he was a lead figure in part but not all so it looked bad). great actor when he's in the right role, but srsly limited in other roles, Kind/nice dude itseemsforsure.
i think fishbourne was EXCELLENT in Matrix and Event Horizon. However, his career stops it's non-existent other than those performances. You can see a lot of pain in his acting now. he's not doing well, man. he got trapped in the morpheus role and doesn't have any other tricks. (noticed this downward career momentum when saw "21"), he just always tries to play the "in control zen master morpheus" character and he's EXCELLENT at that, but not all roles are that slow and sincere.

I never watch the show, but when i heard that fish will star on it, i watch the two episodes over &over again. i love his transformation. he is so appealing. Instead of seeing as a wife beater, whch made some ppl not want to view his other shows, i believe that the nerdie doctor will be his best. congrats to you mr. fish
