Usually musos particularly improvisers are intellectual by definition.
Here is a dumb comparison test. I take it this is a joke right?Your not doing a serious comparison. If you are serious then you need to go back to the drawing board. As others have pointed out they all sound the same, for one very obvious reason.
I guess when your ready to hear it you will hear it.For some folk it can take a long long time.
@robbertzzzzz bought a yamaha 82 custom to mig son. Compared it, with a yamaha 62 and a selmer , silver action, played with an otto link 7* Felt the difference. I think you need a new body.
that guy can play. to me, this proves it's the player, not the axe despite marginal differences [the first sba was my fav, but some of the CE's sounded better than the VIs, to me.]
first of all, you have one of the coolest user names! LOL, love it. My wife is from WI as well, Greenfield. Anyways, I agree, I think the SBA has the sound I prefer but the DSV, which follows it, resembles it very much.. and as crazy as it sounds, the Alpha VC sounded more like the 107xxx VI to me than any other sax.. I say crazy b/c the Alpha Series is made in China (Pro Series handmade in Taiwan). Thanks for your honest opinion. Be blessed.
Great demo!! All horns sound great! But, I like the SBA sound the most!!

Selmers have a full range of frequencies/ high, midrange, and low. The CW horns don't.

@damianer I meant that you can hear the difference very well in this vid, not that you shouldn't go to a store to try the things...
And what on earth do you mean by "I think you need a new body"? And can't really link it to the rest of your reply...

Way too much reverb, echo -- how can you tell ? .. is he going flat at the end ?

Wow. They all sound great. I'd like to hear the same comparison in a dry room.

It sounds to me that the CE horns don't have the solid core that the Selmers do. But over all decent sounds.
