No zoo in the world, no matter how "good" or "big" they are, is really big enough for elephants, who are the largest animals on earth who roam around in the wild, in their native life style, for thousands of miles. Elephants & giraffs are two of the saddest cases in captivity, since they are so incredibly big and we human confine them to, at MOST, no more than a 20-50m by 20-50meters. Yes, lions, tigers, cheetahs, too, are equally sad in exhibitions cages, wandering back & forth all day! So sad.

i've already been to this zoo several times, and in my opinion the elephants' place to live is quite big and their house is also good enough.

Ask hungary government with better place for new born and old elephants....too small for their size...

I heard about this cute little baby (who has got name now) called Jumaane (means he was born on tuesday) for the first time, but I'm very very proud of him:) He is a jewellery of our city, and the first big bang in the Hungarian zoo history I guess. I cannot say anything else... ügyesek vagyunk:)

As a woman from Nyíregyháza, I must say that I am really proud of this zoo. I have seen the beginnings, the early years, and now I wonder how beautiful this place is. Though up till now I did not have the chance to see this beautiful elephant baby, I am really happy, that anybody from all over the world can do it right now. Gratulálok, csak így tovább!!!
