  • I just started this piece but i dont think im very good at it cuz im still just nine

  • Not bad but still needs some work.

  • I love it. Keep keeping on :o)

  • @oMuiMui, that is actualy the tempo it should be played at, it is adagio, the eighth note gets 60 bpm.

  • Hey people, don't be such a contradict! He played with all his best and it's just normal to have mistakes

  • isnit it suppose to be faster o__o

  • Its whatever you want to play really - there wasn't a designated tempo. I guess tradition indicates faster, but that would've meant making it sound even worse - I was LEARNING not performing.

  • it's pretty good just slow down a little and smoother bowing other wise it's pretty much fine oh and careful of hitting the right notes

  • man i love your honesty and overall the most important thing in music: to enjoy what you do, and to share it. and it`s a lovely song I love also!

  • Great!!!! You are actually amazing!!!! Keep going forward and all the best for your bright future!!!!

    Exellent!!!!!

  • Are you intending to sit for Grade 5 exam? If so, you need to work on several things:

    * Intonation - try check your intonation with open strings.

    * Vibrato - other than the very last note, you didn't use vibrato. Grade 5 exam expects some vibrato developed by now. Especially this piece, it's begging for it!

    * Phrasing - Try to shape the phrases rather than playing one note after another.

I did this piece for Grade 5 exam several years ago. All the best and keep it up!

  • I haven't planned on 5Gr exam, but I want this up to exam quality!

Still developing vibrato, such a slow process.

Intonation is weakest, the Arioso really shows up errors that can slip through other pieces.

It was another month after this to start to feel the phrases, I think that part is now better.

This is one of those pieces that I will return to, still finding bits that need improvement.

I just don't have enough technique to do better yet.

  • It is hard to develop your technique on pieces beyond your level. I suggest get some books specifically for technique developments. It is better to play a Grade 3 piece competently than to struggle with a Grade 5 piece. Are you a self learner or do you go for lessons?

  • Dear tubbie0075:

I learnt Violin from my Dad when I was a teenager. I did not know what grade I was then, and I do not know what grade I am now, for I am practicing myself.

Please, look for my name and give me your comments.

  • wow...you're really good:)

  • You're right, the notes don't look so hard on the page! I really enjoyed your performance. You have good intonation and your bowing has improved so much. That's a really nice violin and you're able to get a beautiful tone out of it :)

  • What a lovely melody, I haven't listened it before. Thanks for sharing I like it very much. :)

  • Thanks, bit of a slip up there in places, especially the grab for the high D, anyway, the best I can do at present. Its grade 5 in the book, but to play it well, I think could be Grade 50 :(
