Isn't it misleading to say that it can play flawless 1080p movies, when in fact it won't be 1080p during playback? Or is that just me being an idiot? =D

The design looks like a MSI X410 but being they are made in China designed by a Taiwanese company. Everybody copies each other in some sort of way. Still looks good though
:P they pulled it from their lineup! looks like a new version is right around the corner. Kinda ironic that you just reviewed it spent a ton of time on a great video and it's not on their website. At least not right now.
PLEASE! come up with something as good as Macbook Air hardware. This means: 1440 by 900 resolution, stunning battery life, optional SSD. Then I'll buy one immediately.
@MichielBeijen 1440x900 is not ideal for that screen size, ad GUI elements become extremely small and hard to make out. Furthermore, that resolution isn't 16:9 meaning that widescreen movies will have a bezel at the top and bottom, which isn't the best for viewing.
@ObamaBinLaden88 I agree that it's a pretty low number if you're interested in photography, but it works fine for video chats. It's worth noting that the .3 MP sensor found on the Starling translates to VGA (640x480), which is sufficient for webcam purposes. It's pretty rare to find higher sensors than that in webcams.
@MrFreechelmi I should mentioned that the "lame" battery life is actually the fault of power-consumption issues within the Linux kernel - which is going to get much worse in 11.10 =\
The only thing that would turn me off from this is the battery life. I typically take the advertised battery life and divide it by half for a "real-world" estimate. A "2-hour" battery life would be burned through by me in no time, and no way I'm paying $100+ for a bigger battery that only extends that by a couple hours. I need these things to last me through note-taking in lectures.
I'm nice and comfy, though, with my Toshiba Satellite's 12-cell battery. And Ubuntu runs nicely on it. :)
@WarriorIng64 With most manufacturers, that's a pretty accurate statement, since they use benchmarking software in Windows. We do use testing for real life battery times, which generally includes usage like web browsing on WiFi, word processing, etc. to get our estimates, and they are normally very accurate. It's also an issue we're working on resolving across our lineup.

@DryRice
MSI, Apple, System76, Lenovo, etc etc... All these companies use the same 2-3 ODM corporations for building their laptops.
It's very likely that it does not just look like the MSI X410, but is in fact made by the same company that produces similar 'Utra Thin' laptops.

@joeysneddon Apparently this has been an issue with the kernel for quite some time. But what I don't know is why it hasn't been resolved.
