Mac doesn't make the hardware so whatever they have in their computers, you can get the same or better on a PC. 12 core mac? Well you can get 12 overclocked core PC. Plus those overclocked cores can be the best that you can't even find on macs.

And that's just the processors, where macs are the closest to PCs. For the graphics cards, drives and so on, macs are far behind.

At the moment especially Intel.

So Mac can get faster ( then they were before), the company just has to drag their heels and permit the competition to actually be the Hardware. While the only thing they made on the comp is some OS and Software.

OpenGL is not apple's work, and user account control is not thesame as having user accounts. It's windows asking user permission if a program wants admin rights. And where's DX directX for mac? Why would microsoft give their API to apple?

Ok, so Apple bought their hardware, and microsoft just stole the ideas from apple. Thats all great, but what do i care where microsoft gets their stuff from, as long as it works. Bottem line for me is that a PC will either get the job done cheaper, or faster, or both. Or in the case of gaming, the best.

Lastly, if the cheapest PC u could find was an Acer, then i conclude you did not look at self-building. I built my system myself, which gives me maximum freedom a mac will never offer me.

Vista works fine here. I got this peculiar crash when i switch in and out of UT2004, but thats where the problems end. Never got strange lag, nor freezing.

Also, the PC i mentioned is not an Acer. It is assembled by the PC shop. And when searching that site some more, i found dozens of PCs under 600 bucks, not Acer, and most of the times more powerfull than a mac mini. But still, with the specs they had, vista might not be that great of an idea = |

i got a C2Q q6600@ 3 GHz, 8 gigs ram [gotta love superfetching], 9800GT. Gaming quite alot, running tons of things next to each other, like atm:

teamspeak, msn, xfire, asus gamerOSD, utorrent, fraps in idle, few mozilla, few folders open, few conversations open, steam in background, razer program for mouse, OCZ thingy for keyboard, monitor adjustment proggy, and all the while windoes has the security stuff in the background.

Not sure about what ur doing wrong, but it feels very responsive.

That's why they said a Mac can run Vista faster than a PC? If you're talking benchmark tests, this will depend on hardware. BTW, Mac uses Intel processors and ATI Graphics cards.....something "PC's" have been using for years.

See the problem with this whole ad is the fact that the Mac they tested is worth apx. $4000. The most expensive PC they tested was closer to $2600. Fact is, they tested software that was by far more expensive and thus it was capable of running better benchmarks.

I'm just tired of all this bad Apple-related misinformation.
