  • Anybody else notice that Hogan doesn't kick out before the referee counts to three, yet the annoucer call it as if he did....bad showmanship by these guys, reherse better please. 0:50

  • Have you noticed back in the day when Hogan fights other massive stars in WCW he cant stand to lose straight so always had to lose to interference or cheating, its what happens when you give a big ego a lot of creative control they always have to make themselves look like its the only way they can be beat.

  • @brainimp Hogan couldnt even take DDP's diamond cutter properly, and made everyone sell for him, never lose clean, thats Hogan.

  • At this point Hogan had been a massive heel for years. IMO he was the most hated man in wrestling at the time. So he woke up one day and decided to be a face and because Sting and DDP wanted to give him his just dues, he should be a heel? Bullshit. This was the worst and most unbelieveable heel turn ever. You don't just wake up and become good one day. Hogan did a successful heel turn, but I don't think he has done a succesful face turn.

  • @thereverendwho You did like WM18 face turn which is similar to the one he did in TNA. I see your point though just wanted your thoughts on those. Loved the Sting pop in this.

  • @BigDaddy0207 I didn't really like his WM18 face turn either. Didn't he hit the Rock with a car? Not believable, you hit a guy with a car and become his friend? The latest face turn was the worst ever. "String made me see the light brother." Hogan needs a good storyline to exit the buisness with.

  • 00:17 kick in the face fail

  • I hate Mike Tennay's commentary

  • Sting, Hogan, Lugar, Hart, DDP, Goldberg and WCW still sucked? Absolutely amazing. You think the WWE changes titles to much. In the last three years that WCW was in business their world title changed hands about TWENTY TIMES!! Now THAT'S how you devalue your top belt.

  • @terrenceryan22 The belt was really devalued when they gave it to David Arquette. lol

  • Hogan an old fuck. Cant even move...

  • commentator fuck up at 55secs

  • ddp atack a referee and there's no dq omg

  • What an absolute shit show. WCW was such a joke by this time.

  • sting has always been the most charismatic character in wcw im sure if sting has been take the place of hogan has the leader of nwo in 1996 nwo could have been a group of face just because of him

  • I LOVE Sting! I was sad that he never went to the WWF in the early 00's.

  • This is a cool heel turn, but it is spoilt by the endless run ins. It would have meant more just have one heel run in not three or four. WCW never learnt that less is more.

Still it says a lot about Sting's connection with the fans that they continue to cheer him despite becoming a heel.

  • worse diamond cutter ever

  • I was in Winston-Salem when it happened. Despite what you hear on here, the crowd was actually pro-Hogan.

  • @AnFSpikeBoi Then how come u clearly hear them cheer for Sting when he pummels hogan?

  • Has Sting been inducted in any Hall Of Fame? I know he has never went to WWE but thats almost terrible that he never did. Like most of you have said... even as a bad guy this guy is cheered. My favorite wrestler of all time.

  • Hogan in yellow was getting old in the late 90's, but his ego is big an his pull is big ( as in getting wot he wanted we can all see tht he ruined alot of ppl's careers to try an be a number 1 guy long b4 he should of slided down the ladder an JOB to lower wrestlers like luger LOL

  • I remember cheering when this happened. I was 13 years old

  • Comment removed

  • to think this was 1 of many reasons WCW died!

  • LOOOL @ that cup hitting Hogan in the dome at the end of the match

  • why did hogan became hulkomania again? That was so lame. Hulkomania only works in 80s when everything was colourful but only the Hollywood Hogan can work in wcw. WCW really became embarrasing.

  • hulk hogan has the single most lamest finisher

  • love how sting fell without hulks foot even touching him. Watch closely.

  • It's surprising this was not booked by Russo. Overbooked finish, multiple interferences, etc...

  • who was laying next to Hulk Hogan?

  • How long did Sting last as a heel? Given that it's WCW in late 99, I'll say 2 months.

  • @Swazi4 that's about right

  • what a big boot! 0:16

  • Now this was a shocker!

  • Hogan just absolutely embarrassing wrestling fans everywhere.

  • hahahaha the ref sold the diamond cutter better than hogan!!!!.....

  • lol i just noticed that the ref been out for awhile...still is

  • My God, what a clusterfuck.

  • @4583945 It's a shame that this was indicative of WCW in the Russo Era. You had maybe a handful of PPV main events that didn't break down into absolute Pier Sixers of the retardo variety. I didn't really have a problem with Sting going heel to be honest, but the execution of it and what followed was just absolutely piss poor. Yet another staple of what killed WCW from 1/4/99 until its demise. They didn't know how to follow up anything in an intelligent fashion.

  • The Ref Bumped better than Hogan lol

  • @LinnieKing My dead grandmother could bump better than Hogan.

  • the big boot don't touch

  • watch?v=C3786o6tbKM

  • Sting's heel turns have always failed. Like the Road Warriors, Sting will always be cheered.

  • @DefLeppardVanHalen maybe but Road Warriors were fantastic heels.

  • @DefLeppardVanHalen Yes, Sting isn't the most dynamic personality.

  • Wow WCW was really going downhill at this point What the fuck was the point of bringing DDP and Bret Hart out of no where?

  • I don't remember any of this. I like to remember Sting as being THE ONE who would save WCW wrestler's asses every Nitro or so from 96 to 98. Everything after is a blur for me.

  • @TheChamp06 I very vaguely remember Sting, DDP and Luger fueding with Hogan, Bret and... I want to say Ric Flair.

  • nobody in wcw shoulda sold out to hogan he never sells others moves, he's garbage and an asshole who never wants to let anybody else be popular. it's cuz of him wcw died

  • God every night was a clusterfuck in WCW!

  • this reminds me of Jeff hardy's heel turn in tna

  • I'm wondering if Sting would've gotten over as a heel if they would've had him, DDP, and Luger aligned with Nash and Hall as a new version of the nWo.

  • @johnissoevil Fans never accepted him as a heel cuz he's been a babyface all his career. Even in TNA his heel turns there never meant anything and the fans still cheer for him. I've said it before Sting should never turn heel. He sucks at being a bad guy.

  • @45Yankeeclipper True. Really can't put the Hollywood-type character on anyone other than Hogan, that would be laughed at, even if it were Sting.

  • @johnissoevil You mean the wolfpack? Didn't that happen?

  • @AlterBridge4ever01 It did, but they were faces at the time. I'm talking in 99, when they attempted to turn him heel.

  • Lol a bottle hit Hogan in the face right after he tapped.

  • Hey, was that Bret who got laid out with the bat by Luger? I'm really confused as to WTF happened. lol

  • so the rko is a higher impact diamond cutter

  • @AdamKhanRs5 Yeah, but DDP hit the Diamond Cutter from so many different angles & setups, no one's come close to matching it

  • @deadheroz, while that maybe true, your normal everyday fan will always see sting as a face, and will see hogan with slight mistrust. besides, sting sucks as a heel. Hogan can play both parts cuz he has had lots of practice lol

For the most part, most fans dont know the drama, dont know about the politics, and while Steve maybe justified, fans will still cheer for Sting. Regardless if he plays face or heel.

IMHO, I do believe both are ok guys...

  • Anybody who watched the whole Sting/Hogan drama over the years in WCW and even TNA knows that no matter what is done, Sting can never really turn heel against Hogan and or Bishoff. After all the bogus shit they put Sting through...hell no. It like this, even if Hogan comes out in full face mode, Sting more than anyone else knows the REAL Hogan, and knows he's a dick who will go mega heel and piss all over the company. Sting will NEVER trust Hogan, and he'stotally justified in that.

  • The best part was that the fans were cheering for the heel because they were so sick of Hogan and his politics!!! Lmao

  • Hogan started out '99 as heel with the nWo but then during WCW's Spring Stampede he had gotten injured and before that he had started getting face pops so when he came back they just turned him face. And this match was WCW's attempt to just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks. Sloppy execution and no selling by both Sting and Hogan and run ins galore showed you at this point WCW was grasping at straws just an awful time period

  • This "heel turn" didn't stick. What a waste of time. He was a bad guy for all of what? 3 weeks? A month? If even that long...no wonder this company fell by the wayside. They just threw shit at the wall and saw what wouldn't slide off (I know that's not the right expression, but I don't care)

  • @heavyweightshepherds oh, well it sounded a bit like randy orton.

  • :13 did he say randy orton

  • Can someone tell me exactly when nWo Hogan turned back into Red and Yellow Hogan? What was the month and year?

  • @xraycat30

it was around this time in 99 I think...Hogan was champ and turned back to red and yellow to team with sting and goldberg against nash steiner and sid

  • @xraycat30 August 1999 I believe

  • @xraycat30 It was the same nite that Y2J debuted on Raw. Guess which show got higher ratings? Hint: nostalgia lost

  • @EddieNeverSleeps Thanks for the info. I loved WCW but Hogan turning red and yellow again seems pathetic.

  • I was there and this crowd turned on Hogan

  • Thats the biggest heel turn cheer I have ever heard from a crowd lol.

  • "I don't get this." "Yeah, what's the point?" Just what WCW fans were thinking for many, many years.

  • fake kick hahaha

  • After so many years, Hogan become his own Medicine

  • OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wcw was such shit wrestling besides in 1996 and the cruiserweight division. wwf totally owned the wrestling sport.

  • @salmon020 maybe 'cause they stole WCW wrestlers...?

  • can anyone tell why luger with mrs. elisabeth had a feud with sting. im interested how the bookers wirte the story.

  • to this day i don't get how wcw would think people cared about hogan being screwed, considering his nwo days. S

  • too many factions, too much confusion= late 90s/early 2000 wcw...NWO should have stopped with hall, nash, hogan, giant and bischoff....

  • too many factions, too much confusion= late 90s/early 2000 wcw

  • In retrospect, sting wasnt actually turning heel... yes the fans were behind hogan at this point in time but hogan had them all fooled then just like he did when he came to TNA. This is back during the first part of the hogan/sting feud that we now watch on TNA. Hogan and Bischoff were always buddy buddy.

  • This just pay back from what hogan was doin with the neo his old bald ass deserved it lol

  • Well, if you're going to carry around a bat you might as well use it....

  • 2 things, well I mean plenty of things about WCW confused me, but 2 things that stand out are the heel turns of Sting and Goldberg. They were both over as faces and then BAM heels. I didn't really understand it, I mean yeah, you have to repackage your talent n stuff, but making them heel really didn't make sense

  • @CapTashman the goldberg heel turn was desperation, he went downhill after kevin nash ended his streak, and they were probably just doing it for the hell of it

  • what the hell bloody cheaters and where did bret go in the end hahahaha.

  • Maybe, the reason Sting has hated Hogan for years is because he never got a clean win over Hogan. All of Sting's wins over Hogan were tainted by outside interferance.

  • Oh so even though hogan was just trying to kill wcw via the nwo;sting is a heel for turning on hogan.Yeah that makes no sense.

  • @dnac4life1 Too bad he still got a huge pop for turning on Hogan. If you watched since the beginning, you were probably still on Sting's side anyway. Shit, sting should have beat Goldberg when he was still Wolfpack, but Hogan got him disqualified mid deathlock. Hogan and the nWo fucked with Sting for years and Bret Hart sidelined him Halloween Havoc 98',so I personally was pretty happy when I first saw this at age 11 or 12.

  • Hogan and Sting will always be heroes.

They created entertainment like no other.

  • shit, hogan big boot look overly fake. damn it, his moves ruin wrestling lol, even though wrestling is fake, we all know it, but at least some of them acts and sell well, he act it so badly. damn it, Thumbs down.

  • @xiiangxiang Yeah, though his leg drop is fine, that big boot is just ridiculously awful. He should've gone with the long tights as well. He looks like an old man in a full diaper lol

  • Hogan can't wrestle. Can't sell anything, even big boot he delivered looks like shit.

  • @Sudo21 So how did he become the greatest?

  • @HollywoodKendrick He probably had some other qualities that fans loved?

  • @Sudo21 fault. I don´t like hogan very much (Sting and the Great muta 4 ever) but look at the match Hogan vs Great Muta 1993 on youtube. Hogan can wrestle (I´m surprised too). Greetz

  • Seems the only ones who thought this was a heel turn were the announcers.

  • I always prefer Sting to Hulk Hogan!!! Always!!!

  • I hated Hogan and the nWo with a passion. At this point, I still wasn't in favor of Hogan, so I was glad to see Sting and DDP do this.

  • Worst diamond cutter sell of all time.

  • @mheman1980 oh yeah man, that's true! But the big boot of hogan was worst then that worst cutter ever!

  • @JamesGangFan so what he was 5 seconds late lmao he is Hulk hogan the man who killed TNA lmao

  • @mheman1980 And the worst big boot sell of all time! 1:37

  • @mheman1980 It's a shitty finisher period.

  • @mheman1980 : Hogan might have the record for most botched sell jobs of finishing moves.

  • @mheman1980 It's Hogan what do you expect?

  • @mheman1980 Not bad for Hogan being like 80 years old at this time lol

  • iM Confuses 99? Wasnt Hogan still NWO at this time can somebody clear this up for me?

  • @gslick14 That was a time after Hogan return from injury(July 12) and feuded with Nash and the others. Sting was his partner in that feud.

  • LOL @ Heenan laughing about Hogan being stabbed in the back. I find it hilarious that Heenan's character NEVER liked Hogan, no matter what. From the WWF in the 80s to his run as a heel in WCW & Hogan's run as a babyface here. Never ever liked him, lmao.

  • I ain't sellin' shit, brother.

  • Great

  • thats funny that u cant turn sting heel.. we still love him. i guess we looked at it as paybakk for the bash at the beach..lol

  • and they still couldn't get it right because the fans cheered Sting's turn...Kinda seems familiar, hold on, TBA, I mean TNA did the same damn thing...wow!

  • once again, WCW just throws things together...

  • classic WCW: doesnt make any sense! (what was the back story behind this anyhow)

  • no fast count here!

  • Those were some the worst , Hogan big foot's I have ever seen,

  • diamond cutted his dumbass!

  • i wonder if WCW had plans for Sting being the leader of nWo 2000 (the late 1999-early 2000 version of the nWo) before it formed.

  • @boutitbenza699 No they didn't. That was all Bret Hart

  • phantom boot 1:37

  • @1xDannyHey1x

both the ones on sting and sid didnt connect, clearly, very bad acting there, but then again i might be biased, im not a hogan fan anyway, most overrated wrestler of all time, sting is truly one of the greatest

  • @Elfop1ccolo yea u r right bcuz sting was like a warpainted cooler version of undertaker but undertaker was the shit too, but my uncle went too a christian convention and he showed me a pic he took with someone and im like who and its he said its sting from wcw and im like whoa i have not seen him without makeup and im like i didnt know he became christian. i dont watch wrestling anymore, sting is in still TNA?

  • @1xDannyHey1x

    yeah he is

  • And the crowd goes crazy for Sting turning on Hogan.

  • That was Wrestling... That was the best time for Wrestling. But hogan big boot is so bad, realy realy fake big boot

  • Sting is God

  • Tenay-"I can't believe Sting used the baseball bat on Hogan." Yea, Hogan only ridiculed and mocked Sting the previous 3 years but its ok.

  • One of the greatest heels/heel turns ever!

  • i didnt see a 4 count... what the hell are you all talking about??? this was a prreetty good angle actually!

  • Diamond Cutter = WEAK RKO

  • @tothebeaty0 RKO=rip off of diamond cutter, and true this diamond cutter was weak, but just look at who he was giving it to... hogan never sells his oponents moves

  • @hiddensmoker9491

true, they all have to fall down, and stay down on his dumbass big boot, leg drop combo, wich was pathetic, but he always comes up after other guy's real finishers (real as in looking way better, offcourse not real :p)

  • @tothebeaty0 Look up DDP doing the super Diamond Cutter on Eddie Guererro and then tell me the Diamond Cutter's weak...

  • If I remember correctly this is one of the final shows under Eric Bischoff. This storyline gets scrapped when Russo/Ferrara are hired at the end of Sept 1999

  • this day sting luger ddp heel next day bret hart heel next week hogan heel

    this is wcw

  • @MiLaNoDsL No sting stayed heel for a while

  • WCW sucked...Hogan sucked, and that leg drop sucked too...and the way he sold a diamond cutter made me want to cry...and turning Sting heel is as stupid as turning Hogan face after the fingerpoke of doom

  • whats a heel turn

  • @cianproductions Where a good guy becomes a bad guy to sum it up

  • WTF when did hogan well turn back into hogan and not hollywood hogan in 99?

  • DDP was heel?!?

  • some of the worst big boots ever!

  • Hah nothing went right, 4 counts, Big boots miles away, weak ass Diamond Cutters ect...

  • Nice 4 count and fake ass big boot

  • they should of never made Sting & Goldberg a heel in wcw there the top 2 faces of the company

  • can u use weapon ...?

  • Sting FTW!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1999? When did Hogan adopted his Hollywood gimmick anyway?

  • @MaverickHunterX3 Hogan became Hollywood back in june of 1996, but he came back as the red and yellow Hogan in 1999....

  • SELF HIGH 5!!! DDP

  • TNA has a retarded system because Vince Russo writes for both and ran out of ideas. Relived all WCW moments in TNA

  • I like how the ref comes out and he's like "Hart's knocked out on the ground, Sid is standing next to him outside the ring, Luger is standing there with Sting's bat, and Sting is doing the sharpshooter to a passed out Hogan .... Sting wins!"

  • @Mortizism You sir have a good ability to put a clusterfuck into words! ^-^

  • Here's how fucked up Vince Russo's writing was. From 6/94 to 9/99, - a little over 5 years - the WCW title changed hands 29 times. Once Russo took over, from 11/99 to 11/00 - only one year - the belt changed hands 21 times. In only one year. That's almost twice a month. And don't forget one of those champs was that great technical wrestler David Arquette.

  • that was the worst diamond cutter ive seen page do matbe hogan was too heavy to get any lift off, peeps please tell me when bret hart hit gonan with a chair in the new blood sedgement did he just disapear out the strory line for a while or what that when wcw got closed down

  • Was Russo writing this or did he actually not join till April 2000? Whoever was responsible for this miserable failure to shake things up needs to be horribly ashamed and shouldn't be allowed to speak or share ideas never again....

  • sting never ran into hogans boot just stoped and went down man that looked like shit

  • did sting turn and soul out?

  • im sorry i dont like wcw its really boring
