I listened to all the renditions of this posted online, this 1902 version stands out alone, it captures a young Caruso in command of all his notes, his singing style is intense and absorbing, colorful on multidimensional levels. Whoever said Caruso had trouble with his high notes in the early years should listen to this and think again. Could never have guessed he was a baritone from listening to this.
