For everyone who is discussing the difference between musliim and hindu wedding ceremonies. They are completely different!
Muslim weddings simply consist of the nikah which can be basically seen as wedding vows and the walima, which is like the wedding reception. I'm not sure on the hindu marriage as I'm muslim. Anyway, many hindu marriage traditions like the mehendi are commonly used in pakistani weddings seeing as they once lived alongside hindus
@isy141 "Once lived along side Hindus".Most of the Pakistanis were Hindus and belong to communities like Rajputs,Jatts,Gujjars etc. They converted for various reasons best known to the Almighty. So we are the same race.So It pains me to see Indians and Pakistanis fight like rabid dogs all over YT.
But whose Khawaja? I'm muslim, and personally, I've never heard of Khawaja, unless it's another name for God, I can't see how worshipping him was ever considered a part of the faith in the Mughal Empire nor a part of the sufism that I know.
god I love this song!! I am a hindu...but this song takes me out of this world....no particular god...just a human being in the hands of the supreme, the pure, and the truth. This song brings uplifting tears to my eyes!!!
The Mughal Emperors were descendants of the Timurids from ancient Persia. They shared the Turkish culture. That explains their religion and that spinning dance.
This song and dance is so beautiful, calming, serene and peacful. I love it! The spinning dancing remind me of the traditional turkish dancing. The ancient turks also danced that way with the white clothes and long red hats. It's beautiful to see how cultures can eb different yet have similarities.
nobody should change his/her religion because of marriage. I'm christian but i married a hindu,He didn't forced me to follow his religion and vice versa, and it doesn't affect our marriage. But my daughter is a Christian, she will never be a Hindu.
and she will never be a hindu? It seems like it afffected your marriage, just not in a negative way. You should allow your daughter to experience both religions, I have a friend who is both, he goes to church, but also on Diwali he celebrates it just like us that were born to two hindu parents do. Tradition is a beautiful thing.
m not against hindu religion and traditions i respect watever my husbands belief but i dnt accept it.dats why on my point view better for my daughter 2 be a christian.n ders no such thing as praising 2 Gods.
this is just an interpretation of history...ppl shld take this for what it is...an entertaining movie...religion is religion, whomever you choose to worship, it's your personal choice and others who may not worship the same religion shld be tolerant of that fact. vice versa...anyways that's just my 2 cents on it...btw i am liking this movie...only two complaints thou...the editing is a little choppy and the missing subtitles are a minus but overall, good job done mjbmailbox...thanks!!!
sufis has gone far a way from following the Quran and Sunnah.. they invented alot! the true islam is by following the Quran and the Sunnah .. i was shocked when i read the translation of this song: they say " we worship you khawaja!!" .. muslims worship ONLY GOD!!
@In this movie it is beautiful played by hritvik (???) when the divine light hit him. This movie is excellent in concentreting at the spiritual aspect in all the religion ...... the truth will set you free....
This song and dance etc. is based on Sufism, the most benign sect of islam. well the most tolerable part. It seems akbar was a sufi muslim, therefore could tolerate and live with Hindus otherwise , more war, more bloodshed, never ending................ that is the way of the other muslims.
@Ossammie - yes, this is the idea of this beautiful movie. If Sufism had only continued in seeking God the muslims would not have so much hat in them towards other religion. Sadly they have not understand the truth.Sathya Sai Baba in India the greates spiritual being walking on earth is also telling the millions and million of people from all religion coming to HIM , "do not change your religion but be a good christaian, hindu or muslim, then you will reach God".
@angelicvoice2012 Your generalization "If Sufism has only continued in seeking God the muslims woud not have so much hate in them towards other religions" is very disappointing. Go to any corner in Pakistan, or major Muslim neighborhoods in India you will find people uttering the words of great Sufi saints. Sufism is a beautiul and mystic sect of Islam, there are great shrines in Pakistan and India and Iran dedicated to these saints. stay informed.
oH THIS RAJA AND HER RANI TAKE MY BREATH AWAY LOVE SO GREAT THAT IS THE WAY OF HUMANITY BUT THE VILLAN WILL ALWAYS USE RELIGION TO SATISFY THEIR DESIRE.LONG LIVE GREAT LOVE!
They are not Afghans or Turkish. When they came to India they were from modern day Uzbekistan. They desended from Mongols. They married converted indian and became Mongol,Indian, and later Persian. Not Turkish or Afghan.....
"yeh hamari doh mangi" = 'these are my two demands'.
"pehle yeh" - the first of these
"aur dosri yeh, ek mughal pilang, ek mahal ki undar, ek mandir tami kuch ranga hai" = 'and secondly (demand) inside the mughal palace, she wants a small temple built inside for her statue".
also in Urdu, the word rishta does not mean relationship. it literally means 'marriage proposal'.
the song khwaja meri kwaja is a sufi song dedicated to a sufi master / saint. i think is of the chishti order
Thank you for posting all this, nice to finally see what's being said. Though I personally wouldn't have minded to watch all 3 hours and change. I liked certain parts that were cut. But thank you still!
@yallipop Compleetley different. The bride and groom do not have to stand up and circle the whatever the Hindus circle. And also the wedding lasts for 3 -4 days. First comes the 'Shaadi' which is a wedding where the bride's relatives are invited then theres the 'Valima' where the groom's relatives are invited
@yallipop The wedding traditions are not completely different, example the wedding costumes are same and some Hindu traditions are still there, Muslims don't have the fire ceremony.
yes. He says whatever ash asked him for inside the tent in a very angry tone. But adds that his respect for the people of Amer has only increased seeing that they respect and abide by their own culture and religion so much. That he is proud to be gettin married to a princess of such a place.
It is good to see that a muslim is getting married to a hindu.

I'm in America here so I have to read the subtitles, lol.
And I am also a Christian.
I can't wait to do whatever circle dance in Worship and see what the peeps do, lmao!
But I love this movie( :
I'm always told to only marry & date people who are Christian - I don't.
It's not fair to me & to them.
True love is not conditioned.
It's unconditional.

This is in Urdu, right? (sorry, I don' speak Urdu, Tamil, or Hindi) but in one part they said "Salaam" and that's Urdu. That's all I know. lol. ^_^
xbeautifulxsuicide 2 years ago 3
Muslims say that. "Salaam" is actually "Assalamualaikum" = "peace be upon u". It`s actually an Arabic word.

Yeah, I'm muslim too, and I always said "salaam" but I always thought ir was considered Urdu. xD
