Broken Lizard appear to be a one shot deal. Super Troopers was hilarious. Club Dread had occasionally funny parts but was pretty shitty for the most part, and the same pretty much goes for Beerfest. I'm not sure if I'll bother checking out whatever other films they come out with.
Oh, and here are quality yank beers: Mendocino County Brewery, Anchor Steam, Gordon Birsch, and my personal favorite, Sierra Nevada
Beer with breakfast isn't the least bit unusual in some cultures. In the US (and UK too I guess), the prevailing assumption is that you must be a habitual drunk if you drink beer with breakfast. But people who think like that I'll bet have have never enjoyed a pint of Okocim with two eggs over easy and a side of toast. Okocim's flagship pilsner is also a great complement to fish and chips (any time of the day).
@IggyHazard Culture is a hard thing to deny. Just like other cultures are steeped in a long tradition of beer being "OK" American culture has through most of its history had the "ethical" majority at odds with it. So things like beer being for alcoholics, and specific times of day is as much a cultural thing as a matter of taste. By the time most are old enough to drink on a regular basis they've long since had these views engrained...so...and...I have no idea where I was going with this...
@Goldenkitten1 Most of my compatriots seem to lack self-control. They binge drink. They do so to get drunk, not the savor the deliciousness of beer. Therefore, they're satisfied with what I call "barley-flavored soda pop."
the only thing he seemed to leave out would be the science crap around the boot shape, something about suction, the air bubble from the toes, and some crap.
I never understood it and I would have been happier if he had explained it or at least mentioned it's retarded(ness).
There is an article about the "Cannstatter Volksfest" on Wikipedia. It is the second biggest "Volksfest" in the world- after the Oktoberfest in Munich. It almost runs simultaneosly, it starts one week after the fest in Munich.
Hey mate, if you are interested to celebrate in Germany this year again, i recommend the "Cannstatter Volksfest". It is in Stuttgart. Although i live in Munich now, i know that it's better because i grew up near Stutgart. Because the Wiesn in Munich is world-known it offers exactly what the tourists want to see - a fake german-bavarian stereotype. Oktoberfest in Munich is a clishee. Go to the Wasen in Stuttgart. You have a much more real atmosphere there. And you easier get places in the tents.
LOL, I'm from germany and I was never at the Oktoberfest. If you visit it again someday, let me know about it. Then we could drink some beer together.^^
Great review. BTW, this movie was really stupid, but I was sometimes laughing about how stupid it was. Beer drinking training, wtf? Oh crap films... As you say: "So amusing".
Something else to0. There are a lot of really g0od American breweries. Just be sure not to take domestic crap breweries like Co0rs and Bud as the ideal example. We've got some top-rate microbreweries and they serve as a better example. Rogue, Sam Adams, Leinenkugel, Mad Anthony -- there are so many I can't even think of which ones to list! I recommend Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar, Sam Adams Black Lager, Leinie's Dopplebock, and Mad Anthony Old Fort Porter (and Gabby Blonde).
They have that at my favorite liquor store which is called Belmont Beverage. Yes, BELMONT Beverage. I wonder if the Angry Video Game Nerd has that brewery in his neck of the w0ods. XD
Just so happens I'm enjoying a pint of Okocim pilsner at this very moment! I notice one of those guys is Jewish. I bet he drinks He'Brew Jewbelation. Also, beer with breakfast isn't really unusual. Pilsners are great with eggs over easy. Eggs are kind of like white meat. Porters and stouts, on the other hand, are dinner beers best enjoyed with a steak, roast, or other red meat.
I actually enjoy How High but if only for its pure stupidity and lack of well scripted dialogue. Beerfest just makes me want to drink some drain cleaner.
OMFG - I serously doubt any amount of ethanol can make this film even tolerable to sit through, and what is Donlad Sutherland doing, was he drunk when he signed up for this...uhmm - byproduct of amoebe production? What a joke.
