Sorry i cannot put it up the correct way because youtube do not all you to change the orientaion after the clip reaches 1000 views. I tried several times but to no avail.
Back in the Godlen Years of Milwaukee's Irishfest, when the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem came for the Last time all of them were together, and afterwards my father and I went to the Park East Hotel where the preformers stayed, and there in a snug corner of the upper bar room were "The Boys", just right there, singing and drinking and playing and loving life, and we had become friends with Liam and Tommy over the years of them comming to Irish Fest, and Liam waved us over to Join them!
Thank you for posting this video.I met him after the show in Cork, and even though he looked and sounded tired , i think he would have stayed there all night just chatting and reciting poetry .He could have read a telephone book out loud and i would still listen,he just had that captivating voice.I think his pasting will not be fully felt for a number of years yet. God bless and keep you LIAM CLANCY.
I was also at this concert in the Opera house, April 11th 2009.. I have footage of the Garden song and the Leaving of Liverpool... must put it up also... Went onto amazon straight away when I got home that night and ordered the Carnegie hall double CD he told us about.. It's absolutely brilliant.. the sound quality is unbelievable and the energy on it is unreal..I'd highly recommend it.. That line he said stuck with me ever since "to be the last man standing is no triumph" thanks for posting!
How beautiful. This is a wonderful and fitting rendition of this classic. Our hearts may be heavy with the loss of this great man, but it is treasures like this that we all have been blesses with forever. Go raibh maith agat.
Badge, you'll have to start holding the phone the right way up. You're getting great recordings but they're all sideways ted! God bless Liam wherever he is now
RIP Liam... and Paddy... and Tommy.. and Ronnie... and Luke...
Good Lord, we're losing so many of them. God Bless all...

It is not the orientation of the video that matters, it is the man and his music. He left very big shoes to fill. God give you peace, Liam.

Has nobody noticed that the video was shot at right angles to most peoples view of the world?

We sang and drank and played the night away!
It is a memory I will cherish ALL of my life! I wish my Grand kids could have seen them when they were alive!
I am DAMNED Lucky to have been raised {or Bread and Buttered} with this kind of music!
UP THE REPUBLIC!

We sure lost a good one, and one hell of a voice; none quite like him.

"One should always be drunk, that's all that matters,
So as not to feel time's horrible burden that breaks your shoulders and bows you down,
You must get drunk without ceasing, but what with?
With wine, with poetry or with virtue as you choose, but get drunk!"
In time, we all die, but so few of us truly live. Liam did, and he enriched our lives by doing so.
