the 5.7 L vortech is a great engine, and i believe u did get around 7 something. i have a 97 k1500 4X4Z71 and i added some performance parts to it and i have a time of around 6.6 seconds, check out my vids, superchargin it would probably bring the time down to low 5's

i know a 99 gmc sierra with 142000 miles get to 0-60 in about 6secs all it has is custom exquast from the cat to the 4.5 tips and a k&n air filter not a cold air intake made 285hp with 310tq now makes atleast 350hp with about 370tq stock gearing and has 4x4.we raced a 450 pound harley motorcycle and was neck and neck.this is a 5000 pound truck to!!.

Not bad actually, for a semi light weight truck. It looks like 0-60 in 7 seconds. That's only a second slower than the Tundra. Is that thing stock or do you have an exhaust on that silverado. I can't wait for the TRD supercharger to come out so I can add it with the exhaust and intake. Maybe a few bolt ons for the 4 second 0-60 runs. It's going to be like a large truck on steroids. Now consider your Supra's and TT300ZX's (both of which I like) struggle to achieve 20 mpg in a 2700 pound car. The same applies to most Ferraris and Lambo's that get 17 mpg.
