Then the engineer was speeding. Track speed south of MP81.4 is posted as 45mph. This was filmed around MP80.8. Maybe it was the hill.

Even though he was going only 45 it sounded like it made quite an impact going over that crossing.

Yeah, the rails aren't welded here so the trains make quiet a racket. It was even louder when I filmed a 91 car NECR freight going north with the FEC 721 & 722 SD40-2s and NECR 3850 GP38.
