History only needs so many of these old school Caddy's. No doubt there was more wrong with this car mechanically than meets the eye. A vehicle may run but that doesn't make it serviceable. If the thing had delayed maintenance issues from not being well cared for over its life and had high miles there wasn't much value left and the repair cost would certainly have exceeded its value.
wow that is rare for someone to turn in a car like that the inserts lokked perfect and it looks like it was just painted wtf someone lost interest i bet they wish they had it back again theses caddys drive better than new ones !
The Scary thing is there were worse atrocities than this. There were a number of great Broughams that were dumped off for Cash For Clunkers, including a few that were brought to my attention that had NO PROBLEMS and were fully loaded. One such Brougham was also Immaculate, I would have honestly believed it rolled out of the factory the day before the video was posted on the forum.
@TheDullahan really ? I thought it was the Mustang but think about it Mustang came out in 64 until now and The first caddy build was in 1903 and the oldest know Caddy is sereial # 13 others 1 threw 12 are gone or lost too rust so Mustang has to be second.
I have a 1987 Cadillac De Ville that I just had painted that I just love! She's gold and I am keeping her all original except for the sound system. I put a CD player in her amd some new speakers.
Caddys are good cars nd they r good on gas...cause i have a chrysler town and country and it casts bout the same to fill them up....but im saleing my 1985 Cadiliac Fleetwood for $1500 hit me up for details
Well I've had several including an '86 that I sold for $700 after I drove it for two years and 30,000 miles. It had 190,000 miles on it when I sold it!
The truth about the old RWD Fleetwood Broughams is that unless you have one that is in perfect condition, it is not worth much, and the owner probably thought that the cost of the repairs just wouldn't be worth it.

History of this car from 1977-1992:
1977: Model line was available as the Coupe DeVille (2-door), Sedan DeVille (4-door) and Fleetwood Brougham (both styles)
1979: Oldsmobile-sourced diesel V8 engine optional (until early 1985)
1980: Slight change in styling
1985: DeVille name moves to small front-drive platform
1986: Coupe dropped
1987: Name change to simply "Brougham" to avoid confusion with the newer Fleetwood.
1990: First style change in 10 years

Yes it actually had a record for the production of any single generation of an automobile.

@TheDullahan its amazing to look at a 1980 brougham vs a 1992 scarily similar
1980-1989 its even worse....caddy must have made a fortune off these
