  • Very well, but will you fucking STOP calling it a disease on and on again damn it!

  • @DritonGusia schizophrenia is a disease, i no coz i have it...its like i'm handicapped but mentally handicapped

  • @natureloverdude disease as a term is too stigmatizing brother!

I'm not saying there are no negative symptoms, or that it is really a blessing... at least you can use the term disorder, if you can't say it is rather a state of mind.

  • @DritonGusia what is your alternative?

  • @brendaeileen the term disease usually is linked to medical conditions, and the problem is that it is to stigmatising.

I would prefer to call it a state of mind. If that seems doesn't feel right, at least use the term DISORDER its less stigmatising.

Stigma, the way we look at it is the main source of their disturbance, their relation with our rejective nature is the main reason they suffer.

  • Protect your brain as the doctor says, & one way to do that is stay away from methamphetamines as though what is called meth or crank on the street. It eats 11% of your brain a year from what I ascertain from studying about drug use & schizophrenia. Street names for these people are burnt out, wacked, fried, tweaked one to many times, and perhaps others. There are many people in the world who self medicate to get away from the hallucinations of the 5 senses; then some visa versa it seems.

  • 1:11 - their description is interesting as that's how I've always described it, it's like the two halves of the brain are twisted and all of the old connections don't line up anymore..the tube for love brings sadness, the tube for humor brings pain..Like everything is being funneled down the wrong pipe with no off valve

    Kinda :P

  • Is this psychiatrist for real ? Schizophrenia comes from not wearing helmets....?

Psychiatry : first sell bullshit to people, then sell them drugs. Good work.....and this is still regarded as science....

  • To be honest, he seems quite a bit happier than most people I run into on a day to day basis. How bad would it really be to think of yourself as God while interacting with reality on moment to moment basis? It seems the term, "delusions of grandeur," is just a fancy way of saying, "What the hell do you have to be so happy for?!"

  • @Savantrick Many religious people that we only read about are probably similar to this John guy. He has rejected society and wealth in order to spread a message to help people. In a way it is religious.

Lourdes and Joan of Arc also suffered voices in their head.

I do feel sorry for all the schizos who have the desire to kill though and I feel sorry for the victims!

I think this John guy is ok though, he's not doing any harm.

  • @Jairzinho121 VERY few Schizophrenics are violent. That is the misconception which leads to the most stigma against Schizophrenics.

  • @lyon1535 Its best we hurt our own bodies instead.

  • Abram Hoffer had a very high success rate treating his schizophrenic patients with niacin and vitamin c. Sounds to me the cure has already been found and ignored by the American Psychiatric Association. Loren Mosher resigned from what he called the American Psychopharmacological Association.

  • @bernice184 my friend is severly out of it but swears Niacin keeps her calmer than any other tranquilizer she has tried.

  • @brendaeileen

niacin? wtf? niacin just cleans your body out

  • I avoid the public completely.

  • @the7thwreck I suffered loads of head injuries as a child...and I smoke like a chimney! But I started smoking after being diagnosed as mentally ill. I dont think smoking is a cause.

  • @the7thwreck they didn't say smoking is a cause. they said it helps for a breef amount of time

  • @the7thwreck were u hit on the head a couple of times as a child? dont smoke why do u want more health problems..u already have enough

  • @natureloverdude Um, when I was 3 I was skating and fell backwards, smashing my head onto concrete, Ive since learnt that there is a sharp bone that projects towards the brain that sits between/behind the eyes, so any bumps or knocks can hit this sharp bone and damage the brain. I had that fall...was rushed to hospital. Had another knock, a scaffold pole fell on my head, also just family violence has bashed my head off walls for over 20yrs...Saying 'dont smoke' doesnt work.My brain is in charge.

  • great piece
