I'm glad i went here to visit family and they knew all the shortcuts to places it was a 40 minute drive to monte alban a fun one too, i sat in the trunk :)

mezcal helps..hard to believe but it was 30 yeas ago when we did this "trip" only thing was, it was easier to stay on the bus up and then walk down...time it right and you ended up in the zocalo at dark..yumum

Im from Oaxaca and Zapotec is an English term
it's true name is TZAPOTECA and Mixtec is actually pronaunces MIXTECA meaning " the cloud people" in Nahuatl because of the mountainous region.
