Nice idea. Most folks would like to know how long you can stay out before having to come in,

how much charge time, and a general idea about the cruising speed. About half the video was

spent in a pseudo dramatic interview in a darkened vehicle cab. We would like to see this in

daylight sometime, with more emphasis on the boat and what it can do, and less emphasis on

two guys conversing the afternoon away. An electric boat isn't much fun if it has to be recharged

after 30 minutes.

I saw an old macgregor sailboat in storage once that was offered to anyone who would haul it out of the place. It used a water ballast system. To seal that area and store a bank of cells would have made it a geat canidate for a project of this nature.

As I already said, tell you what genius, during the summer, the electric grid is maxed out, causing black outs in many cities, what do you think the result of added electric usage will have, as people are plugging in those wonderful electric vehicles. Maybe we can call China to send more wind mills and solar panels, which are not enough to make a dent in our current situation! Common sense killed the electric car, it don't function well in the real world!

Big ships use electric motors to steer in port as the rudder will not allow sideways movement there are prop pods under the ship up front, tugboats too, been watchin it on the discovery channel. Electric boats may operate with zero emissions but the coal burned at the power company that is charging it is NOT and we use far to much energy for wind and the sun to take up the slack!

@Maples01 That "dirty coal" argument has been thoroughly debunked. If we switched every vehicle, boat, bus, and train to electric, and got ALL our power from the dirtiest unregulated coal-fired plant in China, we would still be at the BARE MINIMUM, twice as efficient and clean as we are using gas and diesel in hundreds of millions of small engines. And that's the worst-case scenario!! It's a non-argument. Do some research.

All 12volt lead acid auto batteries when charged put out approx.14volt dc and have a life range of about 1000 charge cycles( about 3-4 years)
