@thatrowl I don't drive an Echo. I drive a JCW MINI. The '09 model. It's been a great car. It's a blast to drive. Even though it's front wheel drive. I don't race it; I drive it. To, you know, WORK. So FWD isn't really a good or bad thing.

but its people like you who see cars as only a transportation device instead of a way of life that have caused many car companies to delete rear wheel drive, 6+ cylinder platforms in a hope to gain sales with cheap, poorly designed 'environmentally friendly' FWD cars. this forces big, powerful proper cars into either a luxury or sports market and therefore the average joe cant afford them...like me :(

@thatrowl I don't just see cars as transportation devices. If I did, I'd drive a 1999 Honda Accord. Believe me, that's the last thing I want. I'm not the reason companies are making FWD. They are doing it because it makes more sense to them. MOST people buy cars to get from Point A to Point B. Companies understand this, so they build FWD cars since it's cheaper, and easier to manufacter.

@triggerhappybullets Not always true you dumb idiot =] A whole butt load of factors determine a cars ability to enter and exit a turn, primary weight distribution, suspension stiffness, dampening, and body roll. FWD cars tend to be easier but by no means always better. When you truly push a FWD car to its limits you will encounter understeer, which is hard to fight and usually leads to going off the track. RWD experience oversteer which is at least somewhat controllable with a proper driver.

@thatrowl alfa romeo 147 GTA is fwd same applies to the vw scirocco R and honda integra type R for example and they are all fantastic cars that are reasonably powerful. Although I do agree with the fact that RWD is alot more fun and with all of the FWD cars in the market it seems to make RWD cars that bit more special too.
