Really good friend of mine has Hep C. He was living in the US with his wife when it was diagnosed. Fortunately he was able to come back to his native Switzerland and get treated there.

I was treated in the USA, where the drugs that treat hepatitis C effectively were developed and are manufactured. The treatment was successful beyond my wildest expectations. I wish your friend well, though I cannot imagine what is fortunate about being treated in Switzerland. I suppose it's different if one is actually from there.

I really don't know. My friend complained about the treatment he got in Texas, and returned home as he felt that it's better here.

The treatment has very, very nasty and debilitating side effects, including neurological and psychological. Perhaps your friend felt better in a place to which he is native. That's easy to imagine. Depression and paranoia could certainly make a foreign place seem not-so-good.
