Arms in dreams normally signify you caring or your ability to care, either for you or someone else.

Injuries normally signify the opposite, but this doesn't sound like an injury. I have no idea what to say about a furniture metal arm.

Dreams certainly do have meaning, personally I'm very protective about what I release about mine for fear of unknowingly revealing something I might prefer to not. This one reminded me of a recurring dream of mine when I was a little younger, it could indicate that your worried your work (done with your arms...) is too mechanical/routine as opposed to real & fleshy? Dreams often mean something, but that was too trippy for me. I have no idea what you're talking about. lol But I feel you on dreams in general. I often forget them quickly unless I talk about them right away. So it's good you're documenting them.
