I travelled in the US as a teenager. I was too naive to know what kind of racism and hatred there was in the US. It's obvious now and became obvious to most of the world after 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

Check out the demographics of Toronto. It's nearly made up of 50% of ethnic minorities. Nowhere close to 90% white. Yes, there are areas that are 90% white but the cities are more diverse than the US.

I haven't travelled? I've probably been to more US states than you have. I've travelled quite a lot more than the average yank who doesn't even have a passport. A recent survey showed only 30% of Yanks have valid passports. This is compared to 65% of Canadians.

I travelled in the US as a teenager. I was too naive to know what kind of racism and hatred there was in the US. It's obvious now and became obvious to most of the world after 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.
Nope. Don't live in Mommy's basement. I'm an anti-poverty activist. I really don't think Canada is all that much better but I'd prefer to live here over the US. Just look at the hatred that was in Americans in Borat. That was enough to keep me away from Alabama and the rest.

For instance, if I wanted to portrey Canada in a bad light, I would just show you and your family as an example. America is THE MOST diverse nation on earth. Canada is just as diverse as the U.S, and there is very little racism. I use to live in Virginia and the amount of racism there was amazing people wouldn't go to a MacDonalds if a black person worked there and the crime rate is really high all over America unlike Canada.

It's a totally white society, with NO racial diversity. 1996 it was 10% minority. Just recently Canada let any non-whites in the country. Between 1996 and 2006, the minority population doubled. Look up the 2006 Canada census results, it's online. Canada has less than 2.5% blacks, less than 1% of each of practically all other races but white. Canada grades minorities by the term "visible minority population." A term the United Nations considers racist. IE Canada is concerned not only about non-whites immigrating, but classifies immigrants by whether they "look non-white." America, on the other hand, is extremely diverse. A Canadian critisizing the US on race is a joke.

And I think you should update your knowledge there buddy its 2009 not 2006 and Canada let "visible minorities" into the country while the U.S was taking the Japanese people and putting them in camps because they thought they were spies. Before the 1960s, Canada screened immigrants by national origin. IE they didn't let people in unless they were from a few WHITE countries. In 1996, minorities were 10 of the population. So it is pure fabrication to say Canada was letting "visible minorities" in in the 1940s, no THEY WEREN'T! A Canadian criticizing the US on race is pure hypocricy as the US is VERY diverse and Canada only recently let ANYONE NOT FROM A FEW COUNTRIES IN!!! That America is extremely ethnically diverse. But I take exception to someone from ANY other country following the biased media trend to slam the US for anything and everything. Actually, they don't. They screen by country of origin, in order to give a fair chance for everyone to immigrate to America. IE There is a quota based upon population so some countries don't get more of a chance than others.

What the hell are you talking about? Immigration reform happened in the late 60s yes but people from Africa and Asia were never banned from entering Canada before this. There were limits on the number of people coming from each continent. It was definitely a racist policy but people were never banned. Canada's cities are diverse. Small towns. Not so much.
