I put Mother games in the same catagory as Metal Gear Solids. I'm not a gamer, but, from what I have played, Mother and MGS are certainly the only video games that've actually impressed me emotionally.

I find them to both to be high-brow forms of media, which is uncommon in games. Or...any other popular media... Video games may promote laziness, and we'd probably be better off without them in general, but as long as they're here, it's nice that some of them are actually beneficial.

All good games stopped after the '90's... except one. MOTHER 3 is the single most beautiful game I've ever played. I tried showing this to my buddy who's a CoD diehard but he could not grasp the true power of EarthBound. He still wastes hours away piercing hearts with bullets while I continue to spread the MOTHER series which warms the heart with love, joy, sadness, etc.

Proud to call the Mother series my favorite in all of gaming. Sure at first it may seem like a simple turn based RPG but they really end up being so much more. If Mother 3 truly is the last the series will ever see, I will be content but I hope a new series that carries on the spirit of Mother comes along some day. But Mother 3 actually tells you somewhat how its like to lose a famliy member with music and the characters emotions and the text. this song made me go right out and download the game. i had never played it before, but i had seen lets plays of it. this song made take in what a sad game this is, and it inspired me to experiance this for myself. Mother 3 is one of the most amzing games of all time, and it is extremely underrated. All i can say is, thank you, Shigesato Itoi. You created the game that made me burst out in tears multiple times, but still warmed my heart.It is and always will be one of my favorite games.
