Saw them at Clowes Hall in Indy on Jan. 1, 1966 as part of the Gene Pitney Rock'n'Roll Revue. They did a kick-ass cover of Day In The Life, amazing for the time with the equipment back then.
Super Genau mein Lebensmotto.Hatte es damals öfter im Radio gehört fand ich sofort gut.Auf CD habe ich es auch schon gaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnzzzzzz lange.
@shadyalan1 It was'nt just drugs. It was a bad manager that killed the band. Maybe thank him for AC/DC's success. Because George learnd from this and helped Malcom and Agnus to make the right decisions.
A fantastic video! The only thing wrong with it is that the camera isn't -- but ought to be -- on Stevie all the time. He's got an electrifying stage presence and the visuals add so much to the song. It's really rather ridiculous to have a cutaway to a hand strumming a guitar or the drummer chewing his wad of gum when you know that all the while Stevie's on stage dancing up a storm. That's what the viewer wants to see. What the hell was the cameraman thinking?
@olhobbler There was an even better version live when stevie was the peak, before the horrors of Chelmsford fucked his life and we lost a real talent.
George Young, rhythm guitarist, is the older brother of Malcom and Angus Young of AC/DC. Stevie Wright, lead singer, developed serious addiction problems and was voluntarily treated using a combination of induced coma and electroshock therapy. The doctor who developed this treatment later committed suicide due to the damage he caused his patients, including Stevie. Though Stevie is still performing at times today, his story is a sad one indeed, and one that was all too common in the music biz.
The only bummer about these great old classic songs is the recording quality. The old anaogue recorders were just terrible. But... it is a great song.
Friday On My Mind - The Easybeats [Australia] - No.16 on 4/22/1967. 8 weeks Top 40 - "AMG pick. HIGHLIGHTED by some CLEVER guitar runs and harmonic shifts." - The Definitive Anthology (Disc 1)-2003. NOTE: Starting with its pulse-quickening guitar intro, 'Friday On My Mind' brilliantly re-creates the urgent anticipation of the coming weekend. Steven Wright (vocals). They are among my favorite Pop bands from down under. :-)
@backstreets7 The lads were an Australian group (made up of a couple of British transplants). They were HUGE down under, but their popularity never quite made it to the States, with the exception of this song. One of thegreatest pop/rock tunes ever.
@TheChutzpahGirl if they are are Australian why does he have an English accent? maybe because he was born and bred in UK and went to OZ as a teenagers lol
@TheChutzpahGirl You are so desperate to claim anybody as Australian who as any talent at all, must be something in the water out there that you dont produce any people of note.
@TheChutzpahGirl Don't think a teenager can just decide to emigrate, I think you'll find it was the parents using thier transferable skills in the colonies ;-)
this is precursor to punk, the simplicity.just wonderful stuff

Yes the rhythm guitarist was George Young, the older brother of Malcolm and Angus.
He was of course part of Vanda and Young songwriting partnership
