  • this is precursor to punk, the simplicity.just wonderful stuff

  • Saw them at Clowes Hall in Indy on Jan. 1, 1966 as part of the Gene Pitney Rock'n'Roll Revue. They did a kick-ass cover of Day In The Life, amazing for the time with the equipment back then.

  • We cover this song in the reunited Sloths. Great songwriting.Vanda should have been a star in the USA.

  • Wie viele Freitage gab es seitdem Lied?

  • Super Genau mein Lebensmotto.

What a Partynight

  • Flash and the pen

  • David Bowie, recorded this song in PIN UPS, great cover of a classic tune

  • australian actor samuel johnson lookalike!!!

  • Someone pull the Firecracker out of his ass !

Good song, but that dude is wired on something !

  • @TheFishMiester You are so right. This is a case of just listening to the song is better than watching it.

  • @TheFishMiester he's wired on the SIXTIES... you had to be there....

  • Great! I thought I'd dreamt this guy's dancing, I was 13...xx Phrail

  • ...he reminds me of keith moon a bit...

  • ...love his voice too!

  • I can't get enough of this song or this video! makes me feel amazing, ps, yes, he is really cute!

  • god, he is soooo cute !!!

  • Should have gone to the very top....I met them in 1965..nice guys...until drugs came along.

  • @shadyalan1 It was'nt just drugs. It was a bad manager that killed the band. Maybe thank him for AC/DC's success. Because George learnd from this and helped Malcom and Agnus to make the right decisions.

  • TGIF!!!

  • Iloveyou.

  • Dang he was cute!!!!

  • A fantastic video! The only thing wrong with it is that the camera isn't -- but ought to be -- on Stevie all the time. He's got an electrifying stage presence and the visuals add so much to the song. It's really rather ridiculous to have a cutaway to a hand strumming a guitar or the drummer chewing his wad of gum when you know that all the while Stevie's on stage dancing up a storm. That's what the viewer wants to see. What the hell was the cameraman thinking?

  • Super

  • Where the heck did I put my red AM transistor radio?

  • 2:16 coolest fit ever!

  • i love this nutcase

  • Angus Youngs brother ! :D

  • we who grew up in this time were lucky to have had the greatest music of all time 60s and 70s WOW BG

  • great song, lead singer also puts me in mind of comedian Mike Myers

  • Cool song, great live performance.

  • the brother of angus and malcom young on the guitar ^ ^

  • @TheHeadhats

What is his name and which guitar?

  • I can't stop watching... I was born too late to really appreciate the Easybeats... Stevie in particular.

  • they killed it

  • happy chappy, STEVIE WRIGHT! :P:)

  • that clip of the audience slow dancing is hillarious

  • dont know anything of what you are talking about, but i would like to, thanks

  • Jeez, that was sung LIVE............it is refreshing to hear live performances of the tunes, instead of that bandstand bullshit

  • @olhobbler There was an even better version live when stevie was the peak, before the horrors of Chelmsford fucked his life and we lost a real talent.

  • i love it

  • He was born Holland in 1946 . Real name Johannes Jacob Hendrickus Vandenberg

His stage name is Harry Vanda

Last time i saw him he was as bald as coot :-)

  • 1:49 Yea.

  • George must have spiked Angus's baby formula with LSD

  • i love the nananaaaa's!!!

  • Excellent 60's band and a classic tune. Great live version. Cheers for posting.

Excuse my lack of knowledge but wasn't one of the members related to the Young brothers from AC/DC?

  • @DCHurlford1

Yes the rhythm guitarist was George Young, the older brother of Malcolm and Angus.

He was of course part of Vanda and Young songwriting partnership

  • @fosy93 Cheers for the info, much appreciated.

    David.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • I agree... awesome!!! i like it, i like it! good times, good rock!

  • I want to blow this lead singer and swallow his load. he is so fucken hot.

  • Great song! ...Great video! .. What great energy!

  • Can you imagine what the dynamic would've been like with Stevie Wright and Keith Moon on the same stage? Probably something nuclear....

  • The only bummer about these great old classic songs is the recording quality. The old anaogue recorders were just terrible. But... it is a great song.

  • @420Chooey "The old analogue recorders were just terrible."

    Really?

  • @BzlTLV Hell yeah!

  • @BzlTLV He always does something epic at that part of the song. Find some other live versions of it.

  • @FetaCheese222 Thanks for pointing that out. I never realized how much fun watching The Easybeats would be, especially Stevie Wright's dance moves.

  • No one who was there realized how lucky they were at the time.

  • The original Friday song!

  • we played with these in 1967 at winsford civic hall, absolutely blew us away

    mick, peppertree.

  • now this brings back good memories

  • great riff

  • Really awesome!

  • Friday On My Mind - The Easybeats [Australia] - No.16 on 4/22/1967. 8 weeks Top 40 - "AMG pick. HIGHLIGHTED by some CLEVER guitar runs and harmonic shifts." - The Definitive Anthology (Disc 1)-2003. NOTE: Starting with its pulse-quickening guitar intro, 'Friday On My Mind' brilliantly re-creates the urgent anticipation of the coming weekend. Steven Wright (vocals). They are among my favorite Pop bands from down under. :-)

  • Hopes and dreams ....

  • super great

  • Angus's oldest brother leads way to be first family member with bad.

  • Great ! Thanks for posting.

  • What a great song, Bowie did a cover of this on Pin Ups!

  • Great front man, good guitarist, high energy. Why didn't these people go anywhere?

  • @backstreets7 The lads were an Australian group (made up of a couple of British transplants). They were HUGE down under, but their popularity never quite made it to the States, with the exception of this song. One of thegreatest pop/rock tunes ever.

  • @backstreets7 said: Why didn't these people go anywhere?

    Because they were Australian.

If they were American, they would be famous and rich.

  • @TheChutzpahGirl

True. And they were good. Every Friday there ain't any other song I think about!

  • @TheChutzpahGirl if they are are Australian why does he have an English accent? maybe because he was born and bred in UK and went to OZ as a teenagers lol

  • @telstar9

They are Australian. You don’t have to sound like an Australian to be Australian

Yeh, they migrated to Australia as teenagers, because they had had enough of the countries where they were born. They still live in Oz.

  • @TheChutzpahGirl You are so desperate to claim anybody as Australian who as any talent at all, must be something in the water out there that you dont produce any people of note.

  • @telstar9 sounds like a scot, but i know theyre australian. didnt he kill himself?

  • @sparkles67 Not even close to a Scots accent ,its northern English

  • @sparkles67 He was born in Scotland

  • @TheChutzpahGirl He looks like Austin Powers so that confirms he`s british anyway

  • @TheChutzpahGirl Don't think a teenager can just decide to emigrate, I think you'll find it was the parents using thier transferable skills in the colonies ;-)

  • it`s great!!!!! I like it very much....

  • I love this old video...it still rocks after all these years.

  • : )
