If it's true that you are COGIC, you would not fall into the jealous category. Many who make comments like yours still fall there. As long as you have people involved in anything, you will find at least those three elements. If people were allowed to only brag on PERFECT children, spouses,friends or churches, we would never hear good reports. What a world that would be!

My experiences have been different than yours. My family was raised COGIC, but many of us have moved to towns where there are no COGIC churches. Those who are COGIC, represent their background when appropriate, but are first and foremost "SAINTS OF GOD".Those who attend other churches represent the churches that they attend, but will always have that foundation in COGIC. BTW,Followers of Christ were never referred to as Christians in the bible.
One last thing. I am not even close to being a preacher or a missionary for that matter. I am just a woman who respects her upbringing and the undeniable power of the holyghost, casting out of spirits and demons, true prophecies, and healing of cancer of members of the church that I grew up. Needless to say, I didn't see alot of the Bad and Ugly in my church.

I'm my church's lead musician, and sometimes I play praise break for 6 hours at a time. one time, I had to stop because my pinky went numb. but I was still playin with my index finger, when the spirit of God in the peice, you don't care about pain no more.
