  • i feel like she brags a little too much about her ferrets

  • ur ferret is cute.by the way :). but i wash my ferret Pockets why differently. He likes the bath tub with some toys and i don't grab his fur i just pour water calmly on his fur (not his head) and i use the same shampoo i use for my 2 year old son lol . Loreal kids smoothie orange tango. i have been using it for awhile now. it doesn't dry out his skin he smells great longer, and his fur is really soft and it shines and i usually give him a bath about every 2 mos. cuz he really likes it.

  • Cool video. I still wouldn't bathe a ferret more than every other month, not every month. My own get a bath every 6 months unless otherwise deemed necessary (like when Chief treated himself to ferretone by puncturing holes in the tube when I accidentally left it on the cage. He looked like a ferret pancake covered in all that syrup. My ferrets hate baths, but they love to play in the cats' water dish. :(

  • GRRRRRR I WANT A FERRET LOL

  • r ferrets meat eaters?

  • I dont know what my ferret does, because she said they one need dem 2 a year my ferret just smells really bad like he rolls him self inn pee or something. Time for bath Mitchii!

  • I should go in that shelter because i live like one hour from there. Its Massachusetts ferrets friends right?

  • She's good with baths

  • I only bathe mine when they get turd on them which isn't that often. Otherwise I just use ferret spritz. Also my one ferret tends to get blackheads on his tail and that made the hair fall out so I started washing the tail once a week and it grew back. My other 3 don't seem to have that problem. I guess some get acne just like us.

  • I use that Ferret Shampoo too :) Adrian doesn't like bath's and Neichei just sits there.

  • God, you make it look so easy...

  • did you forget to mention that you CANNOT use human shampoo because its too hard on them. you have to use special cat or ferret shampoo. im not being mean i like your videos but just sayin

  • @gotanimalz if you know what your doing when it comes to clipping their nails there's no point into taking them into the vet to get them clipped. That just costs money. With my ferrets I've have ferrets in my life over 8 years and my aunt has always clipped their nails of course our vet back home in oregon taught us how to clip their nails. I never clipped them up until yesterday, because I was always nervous...but my aunts eye sight is bad so I have to now..but as long as you know it's ok

  • I have ferrets, and we have learned even bathing them twice a year it dries their skin out and makes them smell more. I've been raising ferrets now for over 8 years:)

  • i dont even have a ferret

  • jerk u gave him hot water

  • i have never had a ferret before but instead of cliping there nails ur self could u take them do a vet and have a vet do ot because i really dont want to accendenly hurt him/her. She adorable she looked like she was cold so cute.

  • @gotanimalz i think you should let the vet do it because i cliped my guinea pigs nails and they started bleeding

  • @dancerofwords If you look at their nails closely there is a reddish line called the wick. If you cut too close to it that's what makes them bleed. It's like cutting the tip of your toe off. make sure you only trim the pale part of the nail. If it's pink or red you're too close.

  • @dancerofwords I didn't see it mentioned, but you clipped your Guinea Pig's quick. The quick of the nail is the blood source for the nails. Most ferrets have quick you can see, white nails that you can see the pinkish/reddish quick. Never clip the quick. Many animals, like Guinea Pigs and Dogs, have dark colored nails making it hard to see the quick. These take a little guess work but with experience you get the hang of it. For inexperienced I would suggest a vet in dark nail cases.

  • And, would cleaning them with baby wipes work too?

  • Just a question... Are ferret really messy?

  • does that shampoo work well for your ferret? ive been thinking about getting that one

  • i got a ferret called chester and eddie

  • either that ferret is very cooperative oooooooor it is dead :(

  • that's not how you hold a ferret its hurting them D:

  • @6366angel6 their skin is really thick but you are also meant to hold their bum for support...

  • itss soo cutee im getting one soon but hess whitee

  • I know you said twice a year but isn't that too less?

  • @emilicious23 i thought that too. i hear you cant shampoo them more than once a month otherwise their skin'll get dry and they'd overproduce oil in their bodies which causes the smell

  • How often do you clean them?

  • @emilicious23 lol, She said in then video.

  • Are ferrets hard to take care of? My dad and I are thinking about getting one, but he says they are really hard to take care of. I know the basics.. and cleaning their cage everyother day.. or everyday.. and feeding them, and playing with them, and I know they are a hassle.. but are they harder to take care of than dogs? because I have 2 dogs, and they are pretty simple to take care of.

  • @SillyCakez They are a bit of hassle. you really need to have the time for them. and the patience. They test you, much like a 2 year old. You can say no a thousand times, and they will continue doing whatever it was they are doing. Dogs respond easier, and learn quicker then a ferret. you have to be extremely persistent with the training. But other than that they are adorable, and a pleasure to have aroung.

  • i have a bunny n if i get a chance i try to wash him 1 every 2 or 1 months and i think a ferrit shoul be given a bathe ever 1 or 2 months becuase thats wat i would do but any way cute ferret n i suppose to get one soon :)

  • no they need baths like once a month. every other day will dry out there skin but deffinently once a month hahaha

  • are some ferrets afraid of water? i jsut got a 2 month old ferret yesterday and had to give him a bath because he decided to barrel roll in his own stuff… yea. i used the same shampoo you have (yes it does smell delicious!) but he hated it. the water wasn't too hot, n it wasn't cold. maybe it's something they just learn to like after a while?

  • @songnote7077 most ferrets dont like being in water

  • This was my first video of you I watched, now I am subscribed!

  • when you hold them llike that they love it. They usually start yawning, thats also they way you might generally hold them or when you clip their nails and clean their ears

  • you should wash them every other week....

  • Could you give the ferrets the ferret tone so then bathing them will be easier? Because when ever I get small pets like a rat and when I bath them they climb up my arm and it just leaves marks all over my arm. (hurts Dx)

  • okay people ALL OF YALL THAT ARE LEAVIN COMMENTS LIKE OHH U DIDNT DO THAT RIGHT OR YOU FERRETS WILL SMELL WORSE WHY DONT YOU GO OUT THERE AND MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT THIS STUFF SHE IS TAKING HER TIME SHOWING YOU HOW TO WASH YOUR FERRETS AND SHE IS ONLY LIKE 15 OR 14 SO SOME YOUNG PEOPLE MAY NOT BE ALL PERFECT WITH THER STUFF

  • this is a good video of bathing done properly. many videos i've seen are terrible, they put them in a tub way to full of soapy water etc i rescued mine , he was abused kept in filthy conditions, yet bathed everyday because they said he smelled. I only bathed him because he had fleas when I got him and once after. If you keep thier bedding clean and washed they groom themselves. As there wild cousins do.

  • Twice a year shes bathed ? wow.... I never went longer than a month with mine. I used J&J baby shampoo and the water temp was just a bit warmer than room temp .I used my wrist to tell. It was always the water in the sink and never from the tap as it changing temp without me knowing. They dont like being wet but love being fluffy . so happy after a bath

  • i am saving up for one.... i have now earned $26.56 in two days. I'm hoping i can pay for my ferret for its whole life.... and that is much of a risk considering I'm still a "pre- tween" and i get very little allowance. so every once and a while i was thinking about having a local bake sale. So yea.... I'm hoping by the end of September i can be able to pay for it.... So wish me luck... :3

  • @funfunfunForever Please read a book about how to take care of them first. I don't want to be mean but a lot of kids buy them and then decide it's too hard to take care of them and they end up in a shelter. Also try adopting from a shelter. They have young ones. I know they won't be as tiny as from the store but there are so many that need homes. The shelter I adopted my 2 from had over 100 to choose from and the adoption fee is less then what stores charge.

  • the ferret looks like this. sighhh just hurry up i got stuff to do today

  • you take such good care of her!!! =]

  • Wow, my ferret won't stay that still while taking a bath, he hates water.

  • You can get their "Smell" glands removed with a surgery. It will decrease some of the odor, but not all. Ferrets, are always, and will always be stinky.

  • @Pickleweries they actually remove the glands in their butt/thigh area when spay or nuetering them but they have glands under their eyes that cant be removed . =]

  • @Pickleweries I like the way they smell. lol

  • @disasterdemi Yeahhh. Well thats bad for them. I'd rather my ferrets smell bad then for them to be badly taken care of.

  • @disasterdemi Actually bathing them more often, makes the oils in the skin go into overdrive, making them smell more.

  • @disasterdemi LOL

  • @disasterdemi it is bad for them and if you bathe them too much they will actualy release more scent in response and they will smell worse. look it up.

  • @disasterdemi

Bathing makes them produce more oil. So actually, your ferrets will smell worse.

  • @disasterdemi Do you realize that if you bath them every other day that they are around 60% more likely to develop skin disease and cracked skin because they dont have enough oil in their skin. If you just soak them thats a different story.

  • @disasterdemi dude, if you bath them so often, then maybe you should just dont have a farret... yes they smell a little, but its an animal, thats how it works. its not good for a ferret to bath that often.

anyway, nice video, the ferret looks happy and healthy :)

  • @disasterdemi Bathing your ferret too much (in case no one has told you this) will make them have dry skin and produce even more oils that make them stink... You're basically making them sicker and sicker. :l

  • Can we bathe a ferret kit?

This Video has helped me so much thanks

  • She doesnt even move!!! ^_^

  • awwww cutest little ferret :)

  • Will they try to drink they water? and is it dangerous if they do?

  • Does the water have to be hot or cold? and are you suppose to put water and shampoo around the face or just leave it dry?

  • @williamvan23 the water should be warm and you can put water on the top of their head and under their neck, just make sure not to get it near their eyes or nose.

  • @williamvan23 the water has to be luke-warm.

  • does holding the ferret like that hurt them

  • @14yoohoo2007 I promise it does not.

  • @14yoohoo2007 funny fact... hold them like that and they yawn almost every time!

  • @14yoohoo2007 It actually relaxes them. That's the way their mom's carried them as babys.

  • i bathe mine in the tub.. but he likes to do his biz in the water after he is clean... very frustrating

  • @MsSabs26 Mine do too.

  • it looks like you ferrets dead. its really good at taking baths

  • @evadoesurmom123 yeah, that's what happens when you scruff a ferret

  • @TheFerretChannel cool nice to knoww

  • Will a ferret cuddle with you

  • Will the water make them stink? Like, if I just let them splash around in the water without the shampoo, will that be fine?

  • wont u hurt ur ferret by holding it like that?

  • @diehard5830 No... as I said in the video... it doesn't hurt. Even vets do it, it just relaxes them.

  • @TheFerretChannel oh sorry to bother i just wonderd cuz im getting a ferret myself :P

  • how many times should you was a ferret a year? i heard every 2 or 3 months

  • The less the better. Try 2 times a year.

  • is ok to give a ferret alote of baths like 2 and mouth

  • Not really. Try for only 2 times a year.

  • Where did you but your ferrets?

  • @xxMinikitty98xx

The begging of the year an the end of the year are two days in a row. December 31 and January 1.

  • You said wash them like only twice a year, would beggining of the year bath then end of year bath work?

  • @xxMinikitty98xx Ummm shure.

  • @xxMinikitty98xx try a june bath and a winter bath... much better

  • When do you have to bathe them

  • what if they wiggly

  • Where did u get the fabric from that's on the bottom of the cage:)

  • I got it from JoAnn's fabrics.

  • Ur vids are really cool where did u get the fabric from that's in the bottom of the cage

  • @theferretchannel do u live in massachusets I think u do cause in one of ur vids u said u got ur ferrets from the maff massachussets ferret friends

  • Yes I do :)

  • I love ur videos ur soo nice to ur ferrets I think ur name is celline right

  • Yep :) My name's Celine

  • oh shes so beautiful. and whats your secret? lol I have two ferrets and one loves water and the other hates it and will fight with all his might to get out of the water. I think its really cute that my ferret that likes water will go under the water and open his eyes and look around. but love this video and again so so cute.

  • Thanks! She is beautiful, right? I want to enter her in like a ferret pageant, haha. Scruffing works for me.

  • lincoln ri...i know its in mass

  • I got from the MaFF

  • wats the adress of the shelter...im thinking of getting a ferret

  • Well where do you live?

  • Some people just let thier ferrets roam in the bathtub but its not deep at all, is that ok?

  • If the ferrets like swimming I guess it's alright, mine, however, don't. Mine might injure themselves trying to get out, but ferrets who like swimming wouldn't. My main purpose is to wash them so I'm always there, but if they liked swimming it might be different.

  • LOL I WANT A FERRET SOOO CUTEE!

  • omg i wish my ferret was that still while i bathed her :(

and the vetrenarian said i should wash my ferret every 2 months

  • wow ive never seen a ferret hold still that long

  • it's all about the scruff... :)

  • very very true ;)
