By a good metronome, like the Boss 90. Use it for life and go live with it. Don't buy the cheapest available...This video is what you'll get...ps How are you going to hear the tone with the loud drums? Make sure you can use it with your monitors and plug in for head phones with volume control.

Exophobia: Bar (yes, it's spelled BARS, for christ sake) is something entirely different than beat. Simply put, bar is a group of beats put together. "Bars per minute" is nonsense, because bar doesn't have always the same amount of beats. That's why we have 4/4, 3/4, 7/8, etc.

Honestly, "Free Drum Lesson" drummers are much better. Beginners, I just offered you a helping hand into drumming. Don't get influenced by Expert Village videos. They may have their specialties, but drumming is certainly not one of them. Go to a You Tube channel made for drumming.

generally most of the music drummers play along to was recorded and corrected to a click. Not only are you virtually playing along to a metronome, you also are able to get a sense of dynamics and energy. A solo metronome really has no real life relevance to anyone who is "musically experienced"

songs are recorded with the musicians hearing the click of a metronome. Playing with a song/piece is perfectly fine. You dont know how to teach percussion, loosen up im an orchestral percussionists and I can play drumset too. So dont try to pull the whole only rock drummers think drumming without a metronome is bad.

The drummers job is to be the time keeper and we have to be as close to a metronome as possible. Even the big names liek steve Gadd and Dave Weckl STILL use metronomes. I come from a band that is nationally rankedand I am on vicfirth.com with the lassiter percussion ensemble playing in the 59th midwest clinic and timing along with musicality separates the men from the boys.
