I think that people are drifting somewhat from the point here. The only question that needs addressing concerns CLIMATE SENSITIVITY. If it is high, then we may be having an impact on climate; if it is low - then clearly we are not having an impact on climate. Until this question is resolved - politicians and scientists should refrain from committing themselves to a stance on the issue. Science is married to evidence PERIOD! Having 'high confidence' is not sufficient.
We have had five major ice ages that are known to have occurred in the history of earth's evolution. How come these ice ages disappeared before man invented the infernal combustion engine? What caused the ice to retreat? If CO2 is a pollutant (because it is an 'addition' to the natural balance) and is causing an unprecedented and accelerating rate of global warming, then what caused such ICE LOSS in each of these ICE AGES. The NATURAL RATE of WARMING must have been pretty impressive!
@bennyboytalk Well, it is not so good because great president is not enough when the parliament has the same or more power than him. He is attacked very often from parliament and his decisions are being refused. He could do much more good, if our government wouldn't systematically interfere in order to weaken his power.
@Arainion well thats want the would his become. Sucked into idiots like Al Gore the lied all through that movie. If you dare to have a difference of opinion your a 'Climate Vandal', Your destroying the earth, you shouldn't be allowed to speak.
We have currently have democracies we need faith in democratic systems for these laws, taxes and rubbish to fail.
Just watched to understand the "other side". I think his claim that action to reduce CO2 is an attempt to control & mastermind is really unfounded. How is this different from all the other taxes and regulations that governments already impose? So is his argumentum ad hominem that those who "hate humans" want to control us. Which policy would do that? Also untrue view of the "left" many of whom are also concerned about concentration of power & poverty. +He only mentions books that support his POV
@euug "[How is] action to reduce CO2...an attempt to control? How is this different from all the other taxes and regulations governments impose?"
It isn't. Taxes and regulations are ways of controlling human behavior.
Nothing that doesn't harm another individual or have a net negative effect on society should be regulated. People would be more free, and prosperous. An example is drugs. It's now clear to many people society is harmed more (by generating other crime) by having drugs illegal.
@RWT683 Agreed. So do you support Mr Klaus's claim that CO2 reduction will impose a draconian level of control not seen with current taxes and regulations?
If you're saying that a big increase in CO2 won't have a net negative effect, there's a lot of evidence that suggests otherwise. It's not 100% certain, like most things.. But even if Global Warming predictions only have a 50% probability of being true - it's still an unacceptable risk for the future of our civilisation to not take action
@euug The questions are 1) is CO2 level rising 2) is it caused by human activity and if yes 3) will it have a negative effect and 4) can anything realistically be done about it (short of returning to pre-industiral development)
I don't think any of those questions have been definitively answered. The Uni of E. Anglia scandal revealed much of the data is being faked to push a political agenda. I believe if it is real it is a natural phenomenon as weather patterns are cyclical caused by the sun.
@RWT683 Yes, they haven't been answered definitively, but with quite a lot of confidence, based on a lot of data & research, not just at the Uni of E. Anglia. By not taking swift action, we humans are exposing ourselves (and especially the poorest amongst us), to a _serious risk_ of severe consequences, like flooding, even worse food security, spread of disease, and more.
@bd886 Do you think Mexico is being better governed than Australia? No, I am not "misinformed": I just happened to watch the whole speech this crook gave and his ridiculous claims about climate change being part of a communist conspiracy.
Many thanks for uploading this, this guy is "onto it", the big lie we are treated to every day....
Not long after seeing this I spotted Chris Bowen on Meet the Press make this extraordinary statement about the Carbon Tax - "is an economic reform". So our economy therefore is in need of some re-adjustment... could that be in order to bring our successful economic performance down to the basket case status of the US, Spain, Italy and Greece?
People have no balls Just tell the fukn people the real reasons you feel this way Mr Klaus, tell them their government is fake doing constant experiments on the people and the only reason they created global warming is because they will use to destroy further the constitions of nations and gain further control one step closer to new world government NEW WORLD ORDER were your children will be born and die in gutters... you are a slave face it or fight back bitches thats reality with no bs...

@bd886 "Our contribution is only small compared to natural emissions" Oh!! REALLY?! See, how you just fart through the mouth and speak without having any fckin idea of what you are saying?!: volcanoes(dot)usgs(dot)gov/hazards/gas/climate(dot)php
But you are right: maybe the NASA, and all these U.S. government agencies are just part of the "communist conspiracy"!! :-s
@bd886 And good that you mention it!! Yes: POLITICIANS EXAGGERATE!! (Oh, and lie quite often too). Just let me remind you that THIS GUY IS A POLITICIAN TOO!! Now, stop saying non-sense because I'm going to keep kicking your ass. Better go and get something productive to do like, for example, reading that book he is talking so much non-sense about!!: tinyurl(dot)com/L2Growth
@bd886 And damn it, man! Seriously, are you retarded or what?! Did you read the definition of pollution? Pollution is "the ADDITION to the ecosystem of someting which has a detrimental effect on it". EACH TIME WE CHANGE AN ELEMENT FROM IT'S PLACE OF ORIGIN IN ENOUGH QUANTITIES TO OTHER PART IT HAS THE POTENTIAL OF BECOMING A POLLUTANT!!
@bd886 Ok, let's prove it!! (1) Take a hose and connect one end to your car's tailpipe, (2) get inside the car, open the window slightly (just enough so that the hose can go through), pull the other end of the hose through the window, (3) get inside the car, (4) seal the opening of the window with some plastic bags, (5) turn on the machine and stay inside the car until you die and finally verify CO2 is indeed a pollutant!!
@bd886 On the other side, if you knew something about economics you should also understand why carbon should be taxed: it's called EXTERNALITIES!! Situations where the prices do not reflect the true cost to society, and they are formally considered as "market failures". And that's the case of pollution, resource depletion, systemic risk, alcohol consumption, smoking, antibiotic overuse, and so on...
@bd886 Ok, first of all, fyi I just take my info either from renowned scientist, peer-reviewed papers and science books. In fact the book this clown on drugs is criticizing was written by 4 M.I.T. scientists. But have you read it? Then, see how you have now idea! Any variable that increases or decreases in percentage terms presents exponential growth!! Not just "developing nations" as you ignorantly claim.
@bd886 And last but not least, pollution is "the ADDITION to the ecosystem of someting which has a detrimental effect on it". Doesn't it become obvious from the definition that ANY ELEMENT can actually become a pollutant when we add enough of it to a part of the ecosystem different from it's original place? We are made of Carbon. Zinc is a trace element which is required by the human body, but "zinc-carbon dry cells" also known as BATTERIES are some of the worst environmental pollutants!!Got it?
@bd886 Yes, the earth will be around 100 years from now, but very likely completely uncapable of sustaing any form of complex life. How do I know that? Wait and YOU WILL SEE!! It's so simple: no finite resources world can sustain infinite exponential growth!! (Though very likely your also very limited brain does not even comprehend what exponential is). The fact is we are overshooting the carrying capacity of the planet since about 3 decades already: your fantaasy won't last so long anymore!
@bd886 And I am not just worried about "climate", but also about the impending financial collapse, the rhythm of the depletion of resources, the mass extintion of species, and about the fact there are still so many retarded ppl like you in denial living in a "freedom fantasy" at the cost of the future of human kind. Sorry, I can't help it! I just care about the future! And just fyi I am not assuming we should convert to communism (but wtf do you know about the alternatives?)
@bd886 Now, assuming you are slightly more intelligent than a primitive ape... that equals?!! YES, MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING!! Now, what's your fckin side of the argument?
@bd886 Oh, so when I say 2+2=4 you will put that also into debate arguing that "there is a side to your argument"? (1) Carbon and methane particles let pass the light of the sun down to the earth but do not let go out the heat generated back into the space [and this is a physical property of those molecules recognized by science long ago] , (2) 7,000,000,000 human beings are burning thousands of tons of carbon every day that was buried inside the earth crust for millions of years...
@bd886 And are you retarded or what? What part of "it's not just about reducing carbon emissions" don't you understand? Have you read the fckin book? You don't speak, you know? You fart through the mouth!! Now do us a favor and reduce the methane emissions by keeping it shut, ok?
@bd886 And what the fck do you know about the alternatives? For you "free marketeers" it is either red or brown (you know the color of shit), but that's normal when one follows an economic doctrine as a religion instead of actually thinking about the possibilities to the own believes and the implications of them. Accumulation of capital and the creation of money throughout debt are incompatible with a world of finate resources!! Get the fckin point: the Earth is a finite place!!
@bd886 So much for the author of your pseudo-scientific paper: "Spencer is a proponent of INTELLIGENT DESIGN as the mechanism for the origin of species"... watch: zHex9GDQ2S0. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! OK, is it clear now you are making the fool here?
From now on, bd886, I'm gonna call you Pratik!! Look: tinyurl(dot)com/3pmmzwr
@bd886 Don't worry, growth and population stayed "uncontrolled" for sufficient time already. We have already surpassed the carrying capacity of the planet long time ago. And in the following decades we are going to pay the consequences of it. What you don't yet realize is that your so called "freedom" is nothing but "living at the credit of future generations" and in the long time it just carries scarcity, slavery and death within it!! But don't believe me: wait and you will SEE!!
@bd886 It is not that they had a "leftwing agenda", but about the fact that we live in a world of finite resources and no exponential growth can be sustained in the long-term under such conditions!! The freedom we have been enjoying is at the cost of the next generations!! Wait until world scarcity hits and you will see what kind of freedom you'll have: you will still have the freedom to kill yourself instead of having to tolerate the bad consequences of our overconsumption! Read the fckin book!
@bd886 You have no idea what you are talking about (and neither that clown): have you read the book he is criticizing? You will find it here: tinyurl(dot)com/L2Growth. It has been one of the most oustanding books written in the 20th century by renowned scientists and has been prophetic and extremely accurate (not just when it comes about the pollution of the atmosphere but also about resources depletion and everything else. It is not that they had a "leftwing agenda", but about the fact that...
28:50 That you don't SEE it, it doesn't mean, it doesn't exist!! You are not just blind, but theaf and dumb too!! My deepest condolences to the Czech PPL who have to endure such a moronic president.
And it is RETARDED to think that the economic activity of almost 7,000,000,000 of human beings burning tons of carbon everyday which was kept for millions of years inside the earth would not affect the composition of the atmosphere up to the point of actually altering the world's climate. And it is scary to see that there are enough mentally disabled politicians who in the name of obvious economic interests still dare to deny the facts!!
@jrvillela No NASA is not part of the so-called "plot", merely have their hands out like most over funded lavish government departments, dancing to the tune of the policies of the day. They're just public servants after all, with very big snouts in the trough.
@BrounClan Ehm... that's sounds like a conspiracy theory too: is there a way you can prove what you are saying? Moreover: can it be disproved? If so, how? Otherwise is just a bunch of crap.
It is amusing to see that the opening sequence introduces Klaus, who is Hussite and President of the most atheist country in Europe, by the side of a Catholic Pope.
@ThomasNigelHawkins I suppose not, of course. But a girl can dream, can't she? He's ok. I prefer Gary Johnson. But neither have a snowball's chance in hell of getting elected here. Sad.
What Klaus is talking about is just a general bullshit , but what she should refute are real arguments for global warming. His book does not do that either.
@daxxye There ARE no real arguments FOR Global Warming. All the evidence has been proven to be fraudulent. Get a life. I don't even believe you're a Czech. You don't even deserve to be from the country that spawned the Velvet Revolution.
@jrvillela That makes no sense but keep trying. You're forgetting about how new NASA data exposed the hoax. You really need to keep up with current events. Check into Polarbeargate and Climate Gate as well. You're so sad.
It is a conspiracy, that’s the idea most people can't handle, but it’s perfect for the conspirators because they know, people will never believe the things they dare get away with...perfect
@TheSpacecadet78 Sorry mate, that wouldn´t be a fair deal, would be? Anyway have you heard of Ron Paul? I think he´s a decent guy, fighting against government interventions.
I think he accepts the observations such as glacier retreat and sea ice reduction etc. It’s the interpretation of the same and the effectiveness of the counter measures he takes issue with.
@Adman1175 If he were a hero, he would not indulge in transparent nonsense. His fantasy will only consign him to a short political career - one does not last long in ignoring facts and following obvious hoaxes (ie climate denial).
Thank you "wakeup2thelies" for this excellent upload. I scoured the ABC website for this Address but it was not available. In fact, I didn't even see any promotion of the forthcoming President's appearance! HAHAHA ... NO SURPRISES THERE ... yet the ABC howls loudly about bias in the media. My sons are lucky to have secured tickets to the IPA's "The Mass Delusion of Climate Change" by Vaclav Klaus on the 28th July in Melbourne. They got in early as it's booked out.
V 70. letech se uvolňovaly podmínky totality. Do 1969 jsi měl možnost studovat v cizině i bez nějakých úliteb režimu. Věřím, že to nevíš, ale než začneš šířit taková tvrzení, měl by ses ujistit, že máš informace.
@MegaXman123456 " ... allowed to study"???? Wow ... imagine not being able to be educated without the tick of approval from a regime! That, surely, is the point. I cannot grasp what life would be like to live in a country where you had to get approval for everything you wanted to do. How lucky we are to be free. I hope the pen was a Montblanc hahahaha.
@BrounClan Yes, who was not for the regime could not study, who was against the regime was in jail and who was just doing what was suppose to do could study, but who wanted to study in a western country had to be loyal. After the revolution Klaus was know as the "Tunnel Papa", the person who made the biggest theft of Czech history possible and established corruption as a business model. He was not a communist fighter, Vaclav Havel was the communist fighter. But he was in jail for it.
What an intelligent and articulate presentation of the issue. Is this global climate change philosophy being presented akin to the doctrines of domination that have littered history? Perhaps so. The people need to call out that the emperor al gore and his coherts like bob brown and Julia Gillard have no clothes on.
What a brilliant common sense approach to a non problem! He was trying to warn Australians that this is an attack on there freedoms… I hope they were listening!!!
@i8uNWO I think that here in Australia, the average person (not all mind you) is just too stupid to heed the message of a man like President Klaus who evidently understands just how serious the threat we are facing is. Alas, it will be to our detriment. No one here even notices that we are descending into a police state dictatorship, all they do is parrot rubbish about how great Australia is and how "lucky" we are to be here. It makes me sick.
@Adman1175 The average Australian imbecile is too concerned with his favorite meat-head NRL team or who will be eliminated on Master Chef to be concerned with trivialities like our economy being collapsed by design or our country being de-industrialized and turned into a full blown, North Korea type communist police state where everything is a crime and you need a license or a permit to do fucking anything..............
Euro sceptic, we need more the unelected political elite that appeals to the likes of Rudd. The Euro is broke Europe is broke or Insolvent. Labour Greens coalition is heading down same path..... over 100 billion in debt and rising.
@LibertyDownUnder Dunno about an "awful speaker" LOL ... I don't think I'd do to well having to give an address in Czech - give him a break. I managed to understand everything he said, albeit halting with a thick accent. He probably speaks about seven languages .....
SUPERB speech from a person who fully understands the wrath of communism /collectivism. He's spot when he says freedoms are under threat today..never has there been a time in Australia's history has this been the case. What an inspiring, common sensical approach. What a disgrace our Prime Minister is when she cannot welcome a President of an esteemed and proud country such as Czechoslovakia yet willingly obliges a shrill, daytime TV host with open arms and taxpayer dollars.
a brilliant speech, but it's very strange how little air time or exposure it has had. in fact that actually seems to punctuate his point. it's becoming obvious global warming is a political control tool. the gillard government has no mandate from the people to inflict carbon dioxide tax upon us. no one voted for her!
We could all learn a lot from this humble, yet informative and interesting man. He stands up for the people, and not for banksters, scammers and frauds.
@jayah2007 Exactly, which is why he will be demonized and ridiculed by the mainstream, propagandist filth media. If he was out here spouting collectivism and the 'benefits' of a clean, green economy (read: de-industrialized hell hole) he would be on the front page of the pathetic tabloid rags we have here in Australia. Unfortunately truth and facts don't blend well with our socialist, parasitic filth governments propagandist agenda............
@bennyboytalk Totally agree. When I heard this I wanted to jump up and down, cheering for joy; finally a politician who doesn't just bow to the establishment and is willing to speak the truth, however unpopular it makes him with the globalist scum 'elites'. This man is a genuine HERO! And what do you get from the morons here on Youtube? Stuff like imbeciles criticizing his accent for being "too thick........." Sometimes I feel like weeping with despair at how stupid and ignorant people are.
@rainwilds Oh she doesn't have time for leaders of other countries but she has time for over rated celebrities like Ophra bloody Winfrey! I've said it before and I will say it again shes nothing but a supercilious genuflecting sycophant!
@rainwilds Don't be surprised. She is a new world order loving, collectivist thinking, pro wealth redistribution piece of socialist scum. Why would she be interested in meeting a free market understanding, truth speaking, liberty loving man of integrity? Julia Gillard is the antithesis of a hero like Mr Klaus.
I think that people are drifting somewhat from the point here. The only question that needs addressing concerns CLIMATE SENSITIVITY. If it is high, then we may be having an impact on climate; if it is low - then clearly we are not having an impact on climate. (1) Carbon and methane particles let pass the light of the sun down to the earth but do not let go out the heat generated back into the space [and this is a physical property of those molecules recognized by science long ago] , (2) 7,000,000,000 human beings are burning thousands of tons of carbon every day that was buried inside the earth crust for millions of years...
jrvillela 7 months ago
@bd886 Why don't you retake "the ideals of demography" and start by killing yourself instead of deciding about other ppl's right to live?

@bd886 And are you retarded or what? What part of "it's not just about reducing carbon emissions" don't you understand? Have you read the fckin book? You don't speak, you know? You fart through the mouth!! Now do us a favor and reduce the methane emissions by keeping it shut, ok?
jrvillela 7 months ago
@bd886 And what the fck do you know about the alternatives? For you "free marketeers" it is either red or brown (you know the color of shit), but that's normal when one follows an economic doctrine as a religion instead of actually thinking about the possibilities to the own believes and the implications of them. Accumulation of capital and the creation of money throughout debt are incompatible with a world of finate resources!! Get the fckin point: the Earth is a finite place!!
jrvillela 7 months ago
@bd886 So much for the author of your pseudo-scientific paper: "Spencer is a proponent of INTELLIGENT DESIGN as the mechanism for the origin of species"... watch: zHex9GDQ2S0. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! OK, is it clear now you are making the fool here?

@bd886 Don't worry, growth and population stayed "uncontrolled" for sufficient time already. We have already surpassed the carrying capacity of the planet long time ago. And in the following decades we are going to pay the consequences of it. What you don't yet realize is that your so called "freedom" is nothing but "living at the credit of future generations" and in the long time it just carries scarcity, slavery and death within it!! But don't believe me: wait and you will SEE!!

Maybe you should "wake up to the lies" that climate change is somehow not happening or not induced by humans.

jrvillela 7 months ago
@bd886 It is not that they had a "leftwing agenda", but about the fact that we live in a world of finite resources and no exponential growth can be sustained in the long-term under such conditions!! The freedom we have been enjoying is at the cost of the next generations!! Wait until world scarcity hits and you will see what kind of freedom you'll have: you will still have the freedom to kill yourself instead of having to tolerate the bad consequences of our overconsumption! Read the fckin book!
jrvillela 7 months ago
@bd886 You have no idea what you are talking about (and neither that clown): have you read the book he is criticizing? You will find it here: tinyurl(dot)com/L2Growth. It has been one of the most oustanding books written in the 20th century by renowned scientists and has been prophetic and extremely accurate (not just when it comes about the pollution of the atmosphere but also about resources depletion and everything else. It is not that they had a "leftwing agenda", but about the fact that...

EVIDENCE FROM THE NASA?!! DAMN IT!! NASA MUST BE PART OF THE COMMUNIST CONSPIRACY TOO!!

V 70. letech se uvolňovaly podmínky totality. Do 1969 jsi měl možnost studovat v cizině i bez nějakých úliteb režimu. Věřím, že to nevíš, ale než začneš šířit taková tvrzení, měl by ses ujistit, že máš informace.
SamsaRehor 7 months ago
@MegaXman123456 " ... allowed to study"???? Wow ... imagine not being able to be educated without the tick of approval from a regime! That, surely, is the point. I cannot grasp what life would be like to live in a country where you had to get approval for everything you wanted to do. How lucky we are to be free. I hope the pen was a Montblanc hahahaha.
BrounClan 7 months ago
@BrounClan Yes, who was not for the regime could not study, who was against the regime was in jail and who was just doing what was suppose to do could study, but who wanted to study in a western country had to be loyal. After the revolution Klaus was know as the "Tunnel Papa", the person who made the biggest theft of Czech history possible and established corruption as a business model. He was not a communist fighter, Vaclav Havel was the communist fighter. But he was in jail for it.

Adman1175 7 months ago
@Adman1175 The average Australian imbecile is too concerned with his favorite meat-head NRL team or who will be eliminated on Master Chef to be concerned with trivialities like our economy being collapsed by design or our country being de-industrialized and turned into a full blown, North Korea type communist police state where everything is a crime and you need a license or a permit to do fucking anything..............

Adman1175 7 months ago
a brilliant speech, but it's very strange how little air time or exposure it has had. in fact that actually seems to punctuate his point. it's becoming obvious global warming is a political control tool. the gillard government has no mandate from the people to inflict carbon dioxide tax upon us. no one voted for her!
