  • nice vid. I just had a clinical skills exam where we had to do an HPI. My biggest problem is that I feel that I'm talking off a "script" too much (the questions we are trained to ask)

I hope things get more fluid with experience

  • nice mustache

  • Kidaz, you are correct, I am not a doctor nor do I pretend to be one. I am however a student of medicine and have been instructed to introduce myself as student doctor. Normally, in clinic I will inform the patients that I am a medical student. When was the last time you heard someone say they were a student resident? Residents, in fact, introduce themselves as "doctor" and rightfully so since they are certified as such. In my eyes, we are all students until the day we retire.

  • "student doctor" .... a big no-no. This is ambiguous. You are not a doctor yet. It could be confused with a resident, who is a doctor but also a student until attending.

  • @kidaz yeah, i'm not sure how familiar kidaz is with medical education - at my med school we're instructed to call ourselves 'student doctor' to our standardized patients whenever we see them.

  • @cjjc1221 Very familiar. I always introduce myself as a "fourth-year medical student" as does everyone I have met. It's just clearer than "student doctor".

  • They made him do the history taking while he was in his gown, instead of normal clothes?

  • You're very welcome Mrspassword, I hope the videos help. Best of luck on Step 2!
