This is a great idea!! It inspired me to make a playlist called Recycled home. A totally green house is my dream!! Thanks for posting this? Did you add cement over or have you left it just like this?
I was really into trying to make diy art projects around my house with plastic bottle left overs, then I looked into what's in that crap. No more bottles in my house. Sun light heats the plastic up and it releases harmful chemicals into the air your breathing. It's not worth it.
Would also be a cool effect if you had a few clear bottle bottoms, some thin cable, a few LED's and a solar panel and battery. stick an led in each bottle bottom or random ones then link up, connect to battery and awesome night-time footpath. Use the solar energy to charge the battery pack during the day.An awesome effect with or without. either way, a nice random path in the garden for next to nothing.
How would bottle bottoms hold up to heavy people? Never mind. I guess the sand inside the bottoms would give extra support for the chunky monkeys. Great video. I have to try this!
the bottoms provide a 'bumpy' surface to walk on.. so in fact one could use this kind of a surface for wet/ slippery areas in order to avoid cracks in the skull!
Once the bottle bottoms are fitted in place, we can then use thin cement mortar to fill all the gaps and create the final surface with bottle 'stars' popping out! looks very pretty..
This is just beautiful. How gorgeous. What a neat idea! Good job!!!!!!

I love this idea! Needs a bit of refining but you guys have a winning idea here :D
My biggest issue would be, how long before the exposed area wears away in a normal home use?
This vid is from 2009, do you have a area that has been in use even now? Id love to see how its holding up :D

Are they painful for bare feet, and slippery for shoes? Also, do they wear out quickly if walked on several times a day with shoes?

and then the winds flips some over and you cut your feet to ribbons when you walk on it again

are the bottlebottoms not slippery to walk on -- a kid running might slip and fall?
