It's a shame that WWE didnot use kurt properly..... The guy was Gold.... Best wrestler, good with mic, was funny, intense.... WWE ruined it all by sending him to resurrected ECW (which itself was a shame) and let him go to TNA.

The belt that Angle won wasn't officially recognized as the IWGP Heavyweight Title. It was the IWGP belt, but at that point in time, Lesnar wasn't recognized as the champion.

That's what I always thought. How can I buy a move as a finisher when you use it twelve times in one match? Angle is highly overrated; great talent and a hard worker, but he's just as much a spot wrestler as AJ Styles or Jeff Hardy. But because he does suplexes and submission holds nobody cares.

No, he didn't. He won the belt that Lesnar hadn't returned when he stole it in 2006. New Japan stripped Lesnar of the belt that summer, and held a tournament to crown a new champion, which was won by Hiroshi Tanahashi. Lesnar retained possession of the belt, thus New Japan had to bring out an old belt to use until their newer one would be returned, which didn't happen until 2008.

Angle had an IWGP belt, but at the time, it didn't mean anything.

One question: How did Angel not become the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. I didn't get that. I mean, I've heard there was another at the time or something. But I don't know the whole story.

Long story short: Brock Lesnar won the IWGP Heavyweight Title in 2005, and in 2006, he was unable to make a scheduled defense, and was stripped. He never returned the belt, forcing New Japan Pro Wrestling to bring back on of the older designs. A year later, Brock joins Antonio Inoki's IGF promotion, and still has the belt in his possession, though it meant nothing at this time. Angle won it from him in June of 2007, though again, the belt was meaningless.

what i understan about angles style is that it isnt the amount of moves or the style of them, its the precision with which he hits the moves. his rolling germans is perfection, his belly to belly is amazing. the use of ameture wrestling in the olympic slam is perfect and his ankle lock is damn near unescapable. thats what makes him the best alive in my opinion is his precision

Because it wasn't the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Brock was stripped of the title in 2006, but never returned the title belt to New Japan. Hiroshi Tanahashi won a tournament, and was crowned the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion(he was Brock's next opponent). A year later, Inoki decides to promote Brock as the champion(Inoki had previously left New Japan), and Angle beat him for it, but by that time, the belt meant very little.
