one of my finest memories living abroad in london was walking down the street with a group of floor-mates from my co-ed dorm and this guy thought leicester was pronounced lie-chester. it was such an innocent mistake i corrected him and started giggling because i wasn't their as a tourist anymore and everyone was just getting to know the city.
bar chevrolet, ex gas station, ex duck slattery's gas station. south ward road dundee, entrance is now liquid. opened same year as fat sam's, colin higgins and vince knight on the door, owned by stuart columpus (dance factory, now t in the park) was a record holder for the loudest pub in uk as had same sound system as fat sam's. culminated in me getting done for breach when i turned it up one tuesday night. playing, you guessed it... the sundays. peace, kerrzo.
I saw the Sundays at Queens Hall Bradford 1990 ...i managed to get Gavaurins playlist off the stage with mention of all the guitar pedal settings...i also have a load of 35 mm negatives of that concert....they were superb...
Not just an amazing voice but such creativity. Just amazing, and those eyes are so enchanting--what a rare artist. The really developed a unique style you could recognize with the first bar.
Anybody else got the picture disc of the first album? It's the fossil from the album cover. I treasure that album and the memories of being a teenager that it triggers. I always wanted to find a pound on the underground, still haven't......
Wow as most people have said below Harriet really could sing! I was interested to hear the live version to see if she could hit the notes on the last verse and boy she absolutely nailed it!! Beautiful and has stirred the memories...
I bought their debut album when it was originally released and it still, to this day, a favourite of mine and will most likely always be. Like walk2pub, their music has been a soundtrack to my life as well.
Can someone please fill me in on this awesome band? I just cannot believe that Harriet and David will never write music and perform live again. I know that Harriet wants to raise her children, but does that mean that they will NEVER return to writing music again? And God forbid that they get a divorce, because they would spell a certain doom for one of the best bands of all-time!!! Please, does anyone have any interview clips or information I can go on? I am a HUGE fan!
Damn, such an amazing performance. Yeah, I love how Harriet has her own style. Always the jeans, the belt, the hair. Seriously, was her hair ever down? Ever? I wonder why she was so consistent in her look. Could it have been calculated?
If you watch enough of them, she's always wearing jeans that look too big for her with a thick belt. She's also had the same hairdo since the 80's. That being said, she could pretty much wear trash bags and shave her head and she'd still be my favorite female vocalist of all time.
This is one of my favourite Sundays songs! Thank you for the concert footage! I have no idea how they came up with such captivating music, but I love it! Bloody brilliant band!
I agree. Out of ALL The Sunday's songs I find myself singing "you're, you're, you're too young... the most. I love it. It would be amazing if they miraculously came back...
Beautiful, love the sundays

The ending is so absolutely sick-i mean the notes she hits are completely insane! I just hope that she hasn't lost her touch.

All of us should be grateful.
Probably I'm the oldest person currently posting here -- I know about The Sundays because I had a young girlfriend, years ago.
I'm grateful for this live and gorgeous sound and song --
cascading guitars, and one of the truly great rock/pop voices.

My very favorite singer when it comes to alternative bands, humble and awesome!
I was never aware that the 12/8 time approach had such an impact on the rhythmical outcome of some of their songs.

If you watch the drummer, the music is slightly off time, but no matter, still a great song.

Just saw a special on tv featuring Nina Persson from the cardigans and Acamp.
She was tallki8ng about life in New York and her musical inspiration where this group was specially mentioned.
Just had to listen to them because of the resemblance to the way Nina sings/sang in Acamp and the Cardigans.
