Protesters of OUR military should get a clue! I served on the USS HMJ SSBN 730. Ironically was born IN communism (Cuba), escaped as a teen and came to the land of Liberty, becoming American by choice, later served on the submarine force for two decades… I have lived! SSBNs are a "strategic deterrence" Deterrence - as in, 'to deter'. Lets use your China example. China sits around and says "Lets attack the USA. Oh wait, they have hidden nuclear weapons all over the oceans that we cannot find and counter, lets not attack the USA." SSBN are there to DETER nations from attacking our homeland.

I served aboard the USS OHIO & was part of the crew that converted her from an SSBN to SSGN sub. These protesters need to do a few things such as get their facts & numbers straight before getting them on camera.... oh yeah.... AND.. wait for it.. wait for it... A" (acid) so when they deployed it could not be analyzed in his system. Typical 20yr. old in atypical job (Fire Control, Nuclear warhead). All drills MUST be considered REAL so as to the completion of their mission. Lifetime of avg. sailor upon completion,17min.time for Russion responce to missile location at ocean surface

Why does this video bother you?

A common statement in regards to protestors: If they were to protest in another country, they would be CANNED. -these are your words.

Think about what they're trying to achieve, a better more peaceful world for all, it's the same as all the servicemen and women in the forces.

I think it's common knowledge that the US military has more than 700 bases in 140 foreign countries.

Soldiers and civilians all want no more wars, they just use different tools.

My words were referring to the freedom of speech. Without a protected country citizens could not speak their minds. A protected country needs a military. That's great that they want world peace; peace in our home country should be greatly appreciated. To have this peace we need servicemen, whom the protesters are targeting. That's what makes this video bothersome.

Actually, we weren't protesting the servicemen at all. My husband happens to be a disabled vet who did two tours in Vietnam. I have other family members in the service also. This protest was targeting the massive destruction that Indian Island represents. Weapons from Indian Island are shipped all over the world, where they are very often used by the US and other country's military organizations in ways that are against international laws and treaties.
