  • Ron Paul 2012

  • I actually heard this song being mentioned by Sarah Vowell on "This American Life" in her piece on being a Goth. Pretty damn fantastic.

  • @geofflilley

    Thank you !

  • dont drink and drive. at least wait till you get to a red light or stop sign. GREAT SONG!

  • @coolanddark

    I agree to !

Thank you for the comment !

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE OLD SONGS!

I don't care if they're stolen, borrowed or whatever!

They are great tunes without the modern day fakeness and screaming, oh yes and lets not forget the profanity and sexual crap in our modern so-called music...

This sorta music right here is what country music is and it's also country music history!

Keep posting this stuff !!!!! I love being able to share it with others on Facebook. I try posting one 'Blast from my Past' a day and this one's going up right now!

  • @debbiemaurice

Thank you for this very nice comment !

  • @debbiemaurice

These are wonderful but generalizing all others as fake and screaming is ridiculous. You need to look a little harder. Country music still lives even if you can't find it.

  • Great performance its a shame he stole this song but still good performance

im not a fan of acuff he was a sob look how he treated hank williams

he didnt think much of his fans if his so called fans really knew him they wouldnt be his fans

  • @edisonphonographfan

There is always a "pro and con".

For me ,Roy Acuff made good music as well as Hank Williams and Jimmy Rodgers and all

    the other "Stars".

Thank you for the comment !

  • @edisonphonographfan Roy Acuff was actually a huge inspiration to hank. The only thing he ever did to Hank was preach to him about his drug and alcohol problem. If i remember correctly a quote from Acuff to Hank was "you have a million dollar voice, but a ten cent mind"

  • This is a real classic. I was around when it originally came out. Also the Precous Jewel came out at about the same time. Terrific stuff.

  • @nan33mar

Thank you for your nice comment !

  • This is music! I can't stand that modern crap! Thas guy has serious talent.

  • @1927DynamoKiev

Thank you for this very nice comment !

  • @1927DynamoKiev

Well I like old and new. Brad Paisley is one of the greatest songwriters in history as well as one of the greatest guitarists. The fact that he has a great voice and he is a genuine person as well means your generalization means squat.

  • Your welcome! It was a very sad night as I was told from my family.

  • @tonyawvr1

    This is nice,thank you !

  • yeahh roy stole this song from the dixon boys

  • @dillhole17

stolen or not stolen, this song is one of the greates hits from Roy Acuff

Thank you for the comment !

  • This wreak was on Rutledge Pike near Mascot, Tn. My grandmother and grandfather seen it. Roy Acuff was not the original writer of the song. This song was wrote by brothers that seen a mother and child in a car crash. Roy also lived close to the area of Mascot and many knew him. My mother and her brothers and some of her sisters seen the wreak. It was pretty bad wreak.

  • @tonyawvr1

I have read, the Dorsey Dixon in 1938 the car accident ha seen and the song "I Didn`t Hear Anybody Pray"has

written.Roy Acuff has it in 1942 under the name "Wreck on the Highway" brought out. Because of the song it

has to go to an extrajudicial arrangement have come, what the copyrights concerns. Any more I do not know

    about the process.

Thank you for the information !

  • @MrSpacerooster

Is the video to be seen in your country ?

  • I went up to the corner when the police cars came.I was about 7.The dying were already removed but I will never forget the odor of whiskey and blood.Even after years working in medicine, this song brings me back to that morning

My mother said,"well they were drunk you know" as if this explained everything.

The scene haunted me, as does this song does.

  • @freshgreens2006

An awful feeling must have been what you have there experienced. Also I know thus one for myself almost

deadly ones situation. More than 25 years ago I also have with alcohol an accident made. And thanks "AA"

  • I have to quote wrestling's Bret Hart when it comes to Roy Acuff "The BEST that ever is. The BEST that ever was, and The BEST that ever will be"

  • @no3no1fan

Thank you for the comment !

  • Amazing and touching. Scary and beautiful at the same time. Gospel without sounding preachy. A thousand times better than the new stuff they call country now.

  • @ihcatihjwh

    Thanks for the nice comment

  • dang roy was good...damn fine gentleman as I recall, last time I met him (in person) I was 5 or 6 in 72' it was at KFDI. Witchita, KS.

  • AS my good friend, Bert Stegall says -- "It doesn't get any better than this."

  • One of the ten best country performances ever.

  • AMAZING!!!! No song symbolizes what America used to be better than this one. It's still as chilling as the first time I heard it over 30 years ago. Hank and Jimmie Rodgers and Ernest Tubb were great, but I still think of Roy as the king of the country singers!

  • Thanks!

I love this song just as.

I find this song of a 40 years old black label Lp.
