I did not make the glycerine, it is often sold as emollient. It should available at most drug stores. Potassium permanganate is just a water cleaning agent, I also buy that from drug stores. For your question, I am sorry to say that I really don't know, but I may try that..
potassium permanganate is hard to find in america, our government cracks down on stuff like that and ammounim nitrate. Because all one would have to do is mix them with fuel and they have a bomb.

KMnO4 is potassium permaganate while glycerine (also called as glycerin, glycerol) is 1,2,3-propanol. These two stuff undergo vigorous exothermic reaction to give out the fire.
Thank you for your question. I have also tried that yesterday using the glycerine bottle, the fire can still be observed inside the bottle and the bottle burst finally, so I think the reaction can still occur in sealed condition. Though as that video was not very good I did not put it here.

it's the auto-focus. did that on my old Nikon. try settings and put it on single focus (it focuses at the start of the vid only)

take apart about 8 or so tylynol capsuls apart fillem up with permaganate, fill a pipe with glyceren and put endcaps on it then run

Question: does the reaction require outside oxygen or does the oxidation occur from the withinthe substances only. i.e. would it work in a vacuum?
