If the purpose of comedy is only to make us laugh I find it very disappointing and awful way of wasting time for everyone. In addition a comedian has a choice to be entertaining in educative and stimulating way or by degrading and insulting culture, people, traditions, religion including surrounding those things. Most of the time I find Eritrean and Ethiopian comedians to be the later one. Does this reflect the backwardness, dark, ugly,nd poor culture of ours or is this an outside-influence?
