pretty lot of hardwares on the distal tibia...was your lateral plate not bulging on the skin? its a big concern for distal fibula plating especially with thin patients.

the plate i have in my fibula molds to the shape of the bone. my ortho surgeon said it is a new style low profile plate made specially for that type of fracture. my ankle feels great and i have had no problems with it thus far.

very nice ,,but the plate of the fibula has a gap between it and the ffibula,,let me ask you a question does this fracture can be included in danis weber classification?and what do you think if we fix the fracture of the tibia with ilizarov external fixation?

this plate does not press on periosteum, it does not work, it is an internally placed external fixator, does not require contouring or moulding, if moulding is done, screw will not lock, so contouring is not required.

Danis Weber classification is for potts fracture, it is a Pilon's fracture, so it may be classified for fibula, but actually classification is for pot's when both lateral and medial malleolus both are fractured.

yes you can apply ilizaro external fixator,..
