This isn't a double helix, it's only a single helix. If you stretch it all out into a line, there would only be ONE staircase, not TWO. A DNA molecule is a perfect example of a double helix. I am a chemistry major, so I know what I am talking about. I suggest whoever is in charge of naming the products consults with engineers first before making mistakes.
