  • Reason is limited... it answers limited number of limited questions. But what about all these fundamental yet limitless questions concerning our existence. Well here we have a space for faith. Either you stubbornly remain in feeling of unjustified superiority or you accept your limits and open the door to God's grace. It's your choice, but be wise.

  • We are taught to be sensitive to other people's beliefs, but i don't see christians being sensitive to rational people's beliefs. They try to convert you, and if you resist, they either tell you that hell awaits, or give you a self-righteous pitying sigh that you are so "lost". I will tolerate their fairy tales, when they stop trying to control other people's lives, and influence legislation that affects me. For a religion that has a judge-not philosophy, they seem the most judgmental of all.

  • I don't think it's wrong to run a company based round biblical teachings. I am christian and I don't like a lot of things that go on in christianity. We look like a bunch of hypocrites at times and it's only because we are people trying to live up to God's standards(which is hard). Don't say you have never done something you regret in your life something you thought you wouldn't do. We will always fail even people who are not religious have morals and I believe want to stick by them.

  • "By the way....my favorite movie is Ghandi. Are you going to tell that man he is "insane"."

I have no doubt that his religious convictions were insane. But I never said christians are insane. I said their ideology is insane.

Why are you so opposed to trying to make our society more rational? Do you like having presidents like G.W. Bush who thought that Iraq war is what god wanted and creationism should be taught alongside evolution? His father also said non-believers are not real citizens.

  • People can believe whatever they want. It's when they impose their religious doctrines on other people through politics like banning same sex marriage and trying to teach christianity instead of science in schools that I get upset.

And it's also unconstitutional to discriminate who to hire based on religion. You don't think christian corporations that pray every morning are open to hiring muslims or non-believers? And if they did would they mind me not praying? That would be uncomfortable.

  • geez they make it seem like its the worst crime in history. If they are all Christian and want to pray before their meeting, then fucking let them. Enforcing secularism and atheism/agnosticism upon people is just as wrong as enforcing any theistic religion. Its like the established religion is secularism in our world

  • "If they are all Christian and want to pray before their meeting, then fucking let them."

And if one person isn't chrsitian and isn't comfortable he should just leave the room and wait until the prayer is over right? Yeah that doesn't sound awkward at all. That definitely wouldn't cause a rift between christians and that one non-christian.

Why do you insist on mixing religion and politics? History proves that that leads to no good. Your ignorance is what allows evil to prevail.

  • yeah so what im saying is when you ban the prayer, then you let the secularists and atheists just get their way. if the ritual before a meeting was a bunch of atheists bashing God and one christian felt uncomfortable then for some reason its completely different. The bashing would be tolerated, but the prayer cant be? Thats what pisses me off because so many atheists are so fucking hypocritical. Christians are too, dont get me wrong. Its just people need to fucking open their eyes

  • "yeah so what im saying is when you ban the prayer, then you let the secularists and atheists just get their way"

Umm... what? Are you not a secularist? This country was founded by people who were devout secularists above all. Secularism is the basic foundation of America.

"if the ritual before a meeting was a bunch of atheists bashing God"

Anything that has to do with god is NOT secular. And that scenario would only happen in your paranoia and persecution complex ridden brain.

  • It is sad that you bigots have to put down and ridicule others because of religious faith. The fact that you are offended because OTHERS want to pray is very sick and sad. Who are YOU to tell other Americans that they cannot pray or have a religious profession in public because it makes YOU upset.

If you do not like living in a free society with tolerance for all religion then MOVE to North Korea....I will buy the ticket.

  • I have no problem with people praying to an imaginary fairy. What I do have an issue with is when they insert their beliefs into politics. You need to calm down and stop making a strawman. You can pray all you want in public. By all means do it. Just don't say gays can't marry because of YOUR religion or that the Iraq war is what god wants or that evolution should not be taught in school or choose who to hire based on whether they believe in jesus. Keep your insanity to yourself.

  • To label all religious people as "insane" is the epitome of Bigotry and Ignorance. You put down millions of people with that statement.

You are a hater...pure and simple. You want tolerance and respect ONLY for your special group.

    Keep your ignorance to youself.

  • "You want tolerance and respect ONLY for your special group. "

Tolerance and respect? Have you studied history? Do you keep up with current events? Religion is the predominant source of intolerance and disrespect. Don't make me laugh with your sanctimonious diatribe.

    "Keep your ignorance to youself."

Heed that advice yourself. Keep religion out of politics and like I said keep your insane delusion about a 2000 yr old myth to yourself.

  • "To label all religious people as "insane" is the epitome of Bigotry and Ignorance. You put down millions of people with that statement."

How about when george bush sr said non-believers are not considered citizens of the United States? Did you call him out on that for putting down millions of Americans? Probably not. I can give you a plethora of examples where you don't give a damn when other people are marginalized. it's only when you're told to behave that you take umbrage.

  • I really wish evangelicals could understand...I DON'T WANT TO LIVE LIKE YOU!!! I'm just as red-blooded and patriotic an American as you are - Don't force your beliefs on me!! I am a MORAL, upstanding citizen who happens to disagree with you.

  • Jesus and banks???? are you serious

  • Blessed, hope Gods principles becomes more important than anything anywhere.
