MIKE Rann appears to have breached travel allowance limits for spouses, the Opposition claims.
The former premier, who remains in Parliament as a backbencher, reported that the cost of his spouse Sasha Carruozzo accompanying him on a trip to China and Hong Kong was about $9000, exceeding the annual $6000 allowance.
You Labor voters are responible for all the privatisation, Rate hikes, high costing bills, mass non white immigration and ever other rort Anti Australian bill. I hate you bastards with a passion GO TO HELL THE SEAT OF RAMSEY YOU SELL OUT LABOR WHORES!
Where are the Greeks to help him now !!! Wanna play with the Devil, Mike? Well, you go down with him. You should have minded your political business, and not preach crap. idiot.
@hellenisticpride True it was rejected, but it doesnt excuse the fact that he chose sides as premier which he shouldn't have done, just like Jeff Kennett in the past, but i'm sure one day he will pay for the remarks he made - nothing is forgotten 1
He doesn't give a shit about you Greeks, he just wants your votes and he's clever in saying what you want to hear so you can vote for him = he wins by playing the race card, your just little pawns in his own little game, when he gets out of politics i bet you dont hear at all from him "supporting you"
You call urs stupid broke ass sorry ,,country" HELLASS so thats make u a real ASSHOLS, and 99.5 grekos dna ahahahha urs blood its mixed by Ethiopians, Albanians, and most of all Turks
wtf would you know of history you filthy maggot. you know what you are told by the hellenized turks, albanians and slavs. you are nothing more than a hillbillies wet dream. mind your business in australia and fuck off from other world issues you ignorant, brainwashed australia cunt. . if you wish to speak on the international stage you must look at both sides of the story and look at the truth
wtf would you know of culture, yours consists of getting blind drunk, taking drugs and womanising
@jamie070194 - Moron.. you seem to think you know so much of Greeks, but obviously nothing about yours.
Quote: Greeks, Armenians, Jews, Persians, Chinese and Japanese could be cited as examples of ethnic continuity, since, despite massive cultural changes over the centuries, certain key identifying components—name, language, customs, religious community and territorial association—were broadly maintained and reproduced for millennia.
1) In 1877, according to a British ethnological map of Macedonia (British E.Stanford 1877), the region of Macedonia was mainly inhabited by Greeks and in smaller amounts, Albanians, Turks, Vlahs, Serbs and Bulgarians. No mention on the existence of a separate "Macedonian" nation in the Balkans what so ever.
FYROMs frantic search to create a national identity appropriating classical Macedonias Hellenic heritage is due to the pressures of Albanian nationalism in the aftermath of Kosovos independence; its failure to implement the 2001 Ochrid power sharing agreement with the Albanian minority amounting to one-third of its population; and Bulgarian claims that FYROMs Slavic inhabitants are of Bulgarian cultural heritage, much like the Macedonian Patriotic Organization advocated until the late 1980s
@NikolaPetrovski88 - Racist hey? Under Titos orders, the West Bulgarian dialect was a dialect that was spoken in this region was slightly changed with the addition of Serbo/Croatian linguistic elements and it was baptized Macedonian. Blaze Koneski was in charge of the codification. Tito added 5 letters to the Bulgarian alphabet. People are People... but no Macedonians exist because it is a region of Greece not a type of people
@bazinga649 Then explain why, the language is exactly identical to the one spoken in Greek occupied Macedonia? shame on you! cradle of democracy - more like the destruction of democracy. its not called an bulgarian alphabet, it cyrillic, named after Macedonian saint Cyril. i have evidence of the alphabet we used today was used during the ottoman time by Georgji Pulevski, who by the way lived way befor tito. Get lost you hellininzed koine speaking albanian
@NikolaPetrovski88 - Your history is woeful, my little immature one. You FYROMians always swear when your dream becomes a nightmare with real facts. Macedonia was NOT invaded and occupied by the Greeks, but the Bulgarians and the Serbs who wanted to get a piece of the pie of the Macedonian land that rightfully belonged to the Greek people. Greeks lived in Macedonia for over 2500 years and they are the rightful inheritors... you Slavic Albanian knuckle grinder..
@bazinga649 what greeks? you mean the christen turks? the prosfigi (settlers) pontians who moved in the Macedonian lands? why are the macedonians living there called "dopia" or "natives" in your albano-koine language? why did greece constantly change the name of greek occupied macedonia to "New lands" to "Northern Greece" and then to Macedonia in 1988? why in the 1970s Greece recognized Macedonia while it was a part of Yugoslavia?
@NikolaPetrovski88 No we're not Christian Turks. I don't know Turks that used names such as Afrodite, Nicolas, Giorgo, Heracles, Hippocrates, Emmanuel, Dimitrios. These names have been in most modern Greek families for centuries. These names are in my own family tree going back to 17th century (and earlier). You need to forget about your state spread propaganda. Also, 1988? how do you then explain the Greek currency I have from early 20th century with Macedonian images and naming?
@bazinga649 they are your hellenized names not youre real names i just looked up your "supposed" notes and have not found any evidence of what you have said except for the modern money
@bazinga649 lie all you want, but the truth will get out, and the "Former Ottoman Republic of Greece" already paying for its mistakes, i laugh at the fact that your nation is tearing itself apart at the debt crisis.
A msg from ALEXANDER: Don't you think that the Hellenes, in comparison with the Macedonians, behave themselves like so many demigods among wild beasts. Plutarch
Clearly separates Macedonians from the Hellenes. u r not Hellene, just a hellinized albanian who until 1800s spoke albanian
@NikolaPetrovski88 How do you think Italy would have reacted if a new country appeared calling itself as Republic of Venice??? Calling themselves Venetians and claim original Venice from Italy???
How do you think Germany would have reacted if a new country appeared calling itself as Republic of Bavaria??? Calling themselves Bavarians and claim original Bavaria from Germany??
@NikolaPetrovski88 "Such a glorious ancestry was in the eyes of Greeks the hallmark of the Greek persona of the king of Macedon, who could, on the other hand, rely on fidelity of the people from which he had sprung. The Greek cities did not feel that they were allying with a barbarian, since for generations the Macedonian dynasty had been allowed, as Greeks, to take part in the Olympic Games."
@NikolaPetrovski88 "From Alexander I, who rode to the Athenian pickets the night before Plataea and proclaimed himself to the generals their friend and a Greek, down to Amyntas, father of Philip, who joined forces with Lacedaemon in 382, the kings of Macedon bid for Greek support by being more Greek than the Greeks."
@NikolaPetrovski88 "In the northwest, the peoples of Molossis (Epirot province), Orestis and Lynkestis spoke West Greek. It is also accepted that the Macedonians spoke a dialect of Greek and although they absorbed other groups into their territory, they were essentially Greeks."
("The Penguin Historical Atlas of Ancient Greece", Penguin Publishing USA, January 1997)
The 20th development of a Macedonian ethnicity, and its recent evolution into independent statehood following the collapse of the Yugoslav state in 1991, has followed a rocky road. In order to survive the vicissitudes of Balkan history and politics, the Macedonians, who have had no history, need one
Eugene N. Borza, "Macedonia Redux", in "The Eye Expanded: life and the arts in Greco-Roman Antiquity
@NikolaPetrovski88 Modern Slavs, both Bulgarians and Macedonians, cannot establish a link with antiquity, as the Slavs entered the Balkans centuries after the demise of the ancient Macedonian kingdom. Only the most radical Slavic factions—mostly émigrés in the United States, Canada, and Australia—even attempt to establish a connection to antiquity
Eugene N. Borza, "Macedonia Redux", in "The Eye Expanded: life and the arts in Greco-Roman Antiquity
no inscription in Greek earlier than the late fourth century B.C. has been found in any part of Macedonia. Thus we have no substantial evidence about the nature of the Macedonian language in the time that it was most exclusively used (before the fifth century B.C.), but neither do we have evidence of any Greek language being in use at that point in history. The use of Greek came later. Macedonia and Greece: Two Ancient and Separate Nations - John Shea 1997
@bazinga649 he was doin what he was told by the greek government. why do you think there was an attempted murder on his life? this guy went on from being serb to bo being bulgarian. he doesnt know what he is
@NikolaPetrovski88 - At the end of the day - you answered it perfectly - you are cross Serbs/Bulgarians and nothing more. Your pontifications on an attempt at world scale are laughable and ALL history shows that 'Macedonians' were never a race but simply a region of Greece (like Attica, Ionia). In the liberation of Macedonian territory from Ottomans - Where were the Macedonians in the history logs? Only Serbs, Bulgarians, Montenegroans, Greeks & Turks fought in the Balkan Wars.
@bazinga649 Say what you want, Macedonia was not liberated, but occupied. there is only one part thats liberated and thats the Republic of Macedonia. Macedonians thought for Macedonia and died for Macedonia. Nikola Karev, was an ethnic Macedonian, who by the way lived before Tito, and considered himself and the people of Macedonia as Ethnic Macedonians - this is evident in Krushevo Manifest
@NikolaPetrovski88 - You really don't know history very well or were brainwashed as part of the generation program. THERE WAS NO GREEK OCCUPATION. Macedonia was not invaded by Greece but it was defended against the Bulgarian and Serbian invaders who wanted to get and they did get part of the Macedonian land as the Greeks could not fight both Slavic invaders at the same time and, therefore they had to reach a compromise and settle for most of it but not all of the Macedonian land.
@bazinga649 THERE WAS A GREEK OCCUPATION, and it is still in place today, its obvious that youre either very very stupid or brainwashed. there was a huge population exchange between grease and Turkey.
To date, not one single piece of archaeological evidence has ever been found to support the mythical 6th century migration theory. If the Slavs did in fact migrate to settle in over half of Europe during the 6th century, they magically did so without leaving any physical trace.
quoting wikipedia is not a relible source, anyone can edit information there. i did ancient history in highschool, and if we used wikipedia we were given "0" get a more reliable source.
Explain the why people like, Nikola Karev, Georgi Pulevski, Goce Delcev, Jane Sandanski all had a Macedonian conscious? Why did they fight for an autonomous Macedonia instead of fighting to join it to bulgaria? because they were Macedonian
@bazinga649 i google searched your information - which came to a greek site which had the source as wikipedia.
i have given you non-Macedonian sources, to avoid bias, but you give me alot of albano-koine sources.
whose origin like that of nearly all the peasants, who inhabited proper Greece, WAS Albanian, to take refuge on the desolate crags, where they built villages, and sought a precarious existence by fishing.
@NikolaPetrovski88 - So what !!!! - The main part of Greece was Ottoman Turk territory... there were no borders stopping anyone in that area from Macedonia region to Attica, Pelopponese etc.. So what's your point, when there was no Greece specifically to talk about, which means no border control, no immigration policy etc etc... you don't make sense (again!)
@bazinga649 if you were a university historian (which i highly doubt) you would look at all sources, not just nitpicking from certain sources and ignoring the rest.
yes the Macedonians used the ancient hellenic alphabet - as there was no other available, but so did the Phoenicians who were not greek.
Slavs originated from the Balkans, most like from Macedonia. the slavs were associated with the cult of sun, hence the Macedonian sun
@NikolaPetrovski88 - You are so misled with your background - DO YOU REALISE THAT YOU ARE THE JOKE OF EUROPE. DO YOU KNOW WHAT FRANCE, GERMANY AND UK THINK OF YOUR HISTORICAL ATTEMPTS?
3) British ethnological map of Macedonia (British E.Stanford 1877), the region of Macedonia was mainly inhabited by Greeks and in smaller amounts, Albanians, Turks, Vlahs, Serbs and Bulgarians. No mention on the existence of a separate "Macedonian" nation in the Balkans what so ever.
USA 1910 Balkan Immigration policy did not recognise "Macedonian' language, but actually recognised that there was a Gypsy language in their minor stats. Surely a major race would have come up on their radar
@bazinga649 now whos swearing, big temper you have fine go ahead and believe in fairytales, that we magically appeard.
Sticks and stones mate sticks and stones
A university historian? yeah right!
You act like a child, the Macedonian nation was, is and will be Macedonian, while you'll be a hellenized albano-koine speaking albanians, who have no relation to the Ancient Macedonians, nor the Ancient Hellenic people for that matter.
@NikolaPetrovski88 - Though I'd get your attention - I learnt how to speak in FYROMian.... NOW...Can you answer all my points below - A BIG FAT NO is my guess.... I dare you to..
@NikolaPetrovski88 - Please answer EACH question I posed individually - I bet you won't and simply post your other state sponsored right wing propaganda.
@bazinga649 i can only answer questions about Macedonians, unfortunatly i have no clue about aliens and fyromians. i see no question by other then if i have been to skopje lately and the answer is no but am going this yr.
are we aliens - no.
the rest is all statements by you.
how about you answer the several questions you left unanswered
@NikolaPetrovski88 Of course you left a physical trace - DNA - it has been proven countless times. The only ones denying it are FYROMians. Look into it my dreamer neighbour
@NikolaPetrovski88 In 146 ce the kingdom of Macedonia became a Roman province. About 400 ce it was divided into the provinces of Macedonia I and Macedonia II, within the Roman diocese of Moesia. In the Middle Ages the region was incorporated into the Bulgarian empire; later it came under Serbian rule; and during the Balkan Wars of the 19th and early 20th centuries it was battled for by Bulgaria, Greece, and Serbia
@NikolaPetrovski88 THE study of names can tell us a great deal about a society, for names are primarily a means of social identification. People identify themselves or are identified by others in ways which may reveal kinship patterns, migration movements, economic differentiation or social stratification, superstitious beliefs.
An examination of the households which have a time series from 1300-1301 to 1341 reveal that:
"...whose origin like that of nearly all the peasants, who inhabited proper Greece, WAS Albanian, to take refuge on the desolate crags, where they built villages, and sought a precarious existence by fishing.
@bazinga649 What do we call a nation? People who are of the same origin and who speak the same words and who live and make friends of each other, who have the same customs and songs and entertainment are what we call a nation, and the place where that people lives is called the people's country. Thus the Macedonians also are a nation and the place which is theirs is called Macedonia - Georgi Pulevski (1817-1893)
but wait he lived before Tito! did tito have a time machine?
@NikolaPetrovski88 A lot of people dont know that the international name of a state is decided by international law, international agreements and treaties under the authority of United Nations! You can not choose what ever name you like for international use! An example is what happened to Austria!
@NikolaPetrovski88 After the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and from 1918 it was known as the Republic of German-Austria (Republik Deutsch-Österreich), but the state was forced to change its name to "Republic of Austria" in 1919 peace Treaty of Saint-Germain! After the war every state that wishes to enter the United Nation had to make sure that its international name wasnt violating the interest of any other country and was not against international law!
@NikolaPetrovski88 "highlanders" or "Makedones" of the mountainous regions of western Macedonia are derived from northwest GREEK stock; they were akin both to those who at an earlier time may have migrated south to become the historical "Dorians"
Eugene N. Borza, "Makedonika", Regina Books, Claremont CA
@bazinga649 We must remember also that much of the history about ancient Macedonians that is passed on to us comes through Greek sources, and names are likely to have been shaped into Greek forms for a myriad of reasons, including the likelihood that Greek writers may not have been able to pronounce other tongues. Macedonia and Greece: Two Ancient and Separate Nations - John Shea 1997
@bazinga649 "Nineteenth century Greeks did not regard the Macedonians as people of the same ethnicity (Politis 1993:36; Dimaras 1958; Karagatsis, 1952).(1) Greeks in the late eighteen hundreds and earl nineteenth century viewed the Macedonians as conquerors of Greece." J.S. Gandeto
@NikolaPetrovski88 All in all, the language of the Macedones was a distinct and particular form of Greek, resistant to outside influnces and conservative in pronunciation. It remained so until the fourth century when it was almost totally submerged by the flood tide of standardized Greek.
[Hammond and Griffith, "A History of Macedonia" Vol ii, 550-336 BC.]
@NikolaPetrovski88 Nowadays historians generally agree that the Macedonians form part of the Greek ethnos; hence they also shared in the common religious and cultural features of the Hellenic world.
@bazinga649 What is certain is that Alexander's mother tongue was not Greek. Alexander enjoyed a Greek education and adopted Greek as the language of his empire but to claim that that made him Greek is to suggest that the Irish and the Indians are really British because they have adopted English for administrative purposes.
Peter Hill, Australian bicentennial encyclopedia, Section Macedonian
"The main evidence for Macedonian existing as separate language comes from a handful of late sources describing events in the train of Alexander the Great, where the Macedonian tongue is mentioned specifically."
"The evidence suggests that Macedonian was distinct from ordinary Attic Greek used as a language of the court and of diplomacy." "The handful of surviving genuine Macedonian words - not loan words from Greek - do not show the changes expected from Greek dialect."
The most visible expression of material culture thus far recovered are the 4th- and 3rd-century tombs. The architectural form, decoration, and burial goods of these tombs, which now number between 60 & 70, are unlike what is found in the Greek south, or even in the neighboring independent Greek cities of the north Aegean littoral (exception Amphipolis). Macedonian burial habits suggest different view of the afterlife from the Greekseven while many of the same gods were worshipped.
@bazinga649 "And yet they show no such feeling in regard to Philip, although not only is he no Hellene, not only has he no kinship with Hellenes, but he is not even a barbarian from a country that one could acknowledge with credit;--he is a pestilent Macedonian, from whose country it used not to be possible to buy even a slave of any value" - Demosthenes Philippic III
@bazinga649 On the so called Dorian invasion: The theory of the Dorian invasion (based on Hdt. 9.26, followed by Thuc. I.12) is largely an invention of nineteenth-century historography, and is otherwise unsupported by either archeological or linguistic evidence." Eugene borsa
@NikolaPetrovski88 Byron : The real Greeks are this entire area! The whole the Hellenic world: The Minoan, the Ionians, the Dorians [and by extension the Macedonians], the different populations from around -
@NikolaPetrovski88 - You need to understand that Greeks did not die out during Ottoman Occupation. Undergound Christian preaching and homogenous Greek teaching were vital in our persecution, and in fact some pashas even allowed Greeks to carry on as it kept the peace. There was no Greece until 1821, but there were Greeks in this area during Pre-Ancient, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Ottomans.
Thessalonica was made a free city in 42BC. It retained its Greek character and language throughout the Roman period Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible WAS THE BIBLE WRONG? SHAME ON YOUR ORTHODOX RELIGION THAT YOU CLAIM TO HAVE FYROMIANS
there cannot be another state by that same name of Macedonia especially when that other state was never a part of historic and classic Macedonia but it was the land of the ancient Paeonians and Dardanians and I challenge anybody to prove me wrong.
Every greek I have ever met, barring one, has been an arrogant, self centred person, they thought their shit didnt smell and their egos were bigger than life. The trouble with greece, is it full of greeks!!
you know frymonians might think the world isnt watching and that they can get away with theft but keep it up and you will reap what you sow i know your parent never told you lyeing was bad thats because your parents are the same skata you are your goverment made it law that you are not allowed to look up your own origins what kind of bacward people you are clear proof that you are FULL OF SHIT
mike ranns got balls mk worryer we thank you and the prem for what the whole world already knows that macedonians biggest racist fascist theiving tottaly full of shit faggots in the world the real macedonians need to boot all refugees out
MKwarrior, you're the biggest faggot. Call me a fascist if you wish, but I'm proud to be a nationalist! If I were you I'd shut your mouth, because Greece and fuck you up just like that. Greece is only in it's current situation because of the stupid government, all the corruption we are facing and communist plague you have spread to us. The Greek people need to wake up! MAKEDONIA EINAI ELLHNIKH!
@spana95 yeah wake up to yourselves and realize you nothing more than hellenized albanians, turks and slavs. Your nation will crumble because its based on a foundation of lies, when it does the Macedonian people will unite again like we have done before and free all of our nation.
@MKwarrior no, you're nation is based on a foundation of lies. You people actually believe that Macedonians were Slavs? Haha, stupid boy. Alexander the Great was Greek, Macedonians were Greek. Just like the Athenians and Spartans were. Modern studies show that the average Greek contains %99.5 Greek DNA. So, calling Greeks; black, Slav, Albanian and Turk is just based upon the fact that you people and you're gaymongolTurk brothers are brainwashed, ignorant, stupid monsters.
@MKwarrior - Phylogenetic and correspondence analyses showed that Bulgarians are more closely related to FYROMians, than to other European populations and Middle Eastern people living near the Mediterranean. The HLA-A,-B,-DRB1 allele and haplotype diversity defined by high-resolution DNA methods confirm that the Bulgarian population is characterized by features of southern slavic anthropological type with some influence of additional ethnic groups
MAKEDONIA EINAI ELLHNIKH!
we are Macedonians because my grand father told me so, I am Macedonian because my father told me so and I will die as proud Macedonian you like or not I do not give a fuck, todays gayreeks are not what they say they every one knows they are mixture of Turks and Ethiopians , their country was created by The English and french and the German gave them a King(named Otto the Bavarian) , so fuck off do not tell people they are not when you are not what you think yourself Dickheads!
Poor idiots he is after your votes you dickheads if Macedonians were bigger ethnicity in SA he would have said that Greece belongs to Macedonia but we do not want whole og Hellsass we want our Belomorska Makedonija back and you can fuck off ,
Whether Greece is broke or not, is irrelevant. The fact is NO EU country would EVER give FYROM money to build a museum for Alexander. Doesn't this tell you who EU supports - your version of history or the rest of the World (it's not just Greece's version) !!
@MK - Greeks don't need to face the truth - we already know it. FYROM needs to face the REAL truth. Macedonia is and has always been the northern province of Greece for more than 2,000 years. The Macedonian people of Greece have always been Hellenic or Greek, just like the people of Cyprus have been Greek. Unfortunately, they have never had the opportunity to unite with the motherland.
@MK you have a bigger problem in that you have NO explanation why your 'language' and 'people' started >1940
@MK - you are very racist - continually talking about 'purity'. How "pure" were the Greeks (and yes, this includes the Macedonians, of course) after the massive population mix up that followed Alexander´s expansion into Asia, and the subsequent establishment of the Hellenistic kingdoms, is not even an issue. What matters is the Hellenization of Asia and the near East and not the bean counting of which Hellenic, or call it European genes mixed up with what Persian or other Asian genes.
Haha MK Warrior so my comment was racist? Face the truth! You have slavic origins and you came to occupy a piece of what is historically considered Macedonia. Only you became enamored with the ancient history and based your existence on this history. Your President Grigorov stated after all: "we are slavs.we don't have any connection with Alexander the Great".
DNA evidence shows who has more slavic blood, and its greece. We celebrate all of our history and are not ashamed of it like you are. "greek Macedonia', with 1 million turkish Christian settlers. Who needs to face the truth now?
@MK you are so poor at history because you learnt the wrong version. Smyrni, Constantinople, and Asia Minor were always Greek before the Ottomans. The percentage of Greeks living in Asia Minor was higher even that mainland Greeks. My family which is pure Greek originates from Asia Minor and for 400 years kept ALL language, religion and customs despite being forced to change by Turks. Greeks kept their identity for 400yr. We don't have to identify as Macedonians 'cos its part of Greece not a race
@MK - Did you realise that in 2009, the European Union had last year approved 14 million euros of their funds to the Greek Government for building a museum dedicated to Alexander the Great.
So what? greece is bankrupt, I am glad your spending your money well. Our history is celebrated by OUR OWN money, by our own will, not the will or money from Brussels.
"Macedonia is not Bankrupt..." Only 31.5% of its population to this date is unemployed in comparison to Greece coming in at 8.9%. That is almost 1/3 of your entire population i.e. (800,000 people).
MKwarrior, your a fucking idiot, how easily do your people forget the trade embargo Greece launched against your country back in 1994. If Greece repeated that today, your people from living with the chickens would be living at this moment with maggots.
this coming from a whore and beggar, get on your knees and milk the sweet juices from Berlin and Paris. Why are your police being killed on the streets? shops set alight, demonstrations, anarchy... You deserve it you Fascists maggots.
Your "Macedonian Hellenism" started in the 1980's when you renamed Northern Greece to Macedonia and Thessaloniki Airport to Macedonia .
Republic of Macedonia has only had 20 years of true independence to celebrate its national history, which was forbidden before. Just like it's forbidden in greece
You may distort historical documents, but the coherence of Macedonian Hellenism will remain unbreakable. It is one of the characteristics defining Macedonian Hellenism.
You may falsify, torch, bury, burn, ignore, forget history, but you cannot cancel it. It is always there. It will always be there. Joining the past with the future, it will always be there, because it is the learning of life. People will always go to the books, those of the past and those of the future.
Please, people from Skopje, come to terms with the truth, for your own sake and the sake of future generations.
Will you continue to lie to your children even after they visit the tomb of Phillip in Vergina and see for themselves the ancient Greek inscriptions on ancient Macedonian graves? Will you continue to do so when they visit Pella and learn, once and for all, about the Greek lineage of the Macedonian dynasty? Or will the lies continue?
Greece was over run with Slavs and DNA evidence has proven that you have more Slavic blood than today's Macedonians. We have links with ancient Macedonians and with all peoples that have lived in Macedonia. Greeks think they are some kind of 'pure' people when infact they where Hellenized by the Bavarians, thier first President was an Albanian, first King a German and Athens was nothing more than an Albanian village less than 150 years go.
There are just so many misconceptions & bias/hate speech on Greek people, and Greece without checking the facts. Bottom line first of all Greece wants peace more than anything in the region. It's investment projects, accepting thousands of Balkan immigrants, addressing disputes diplomatically while setting the 2014 goal of uniting the Balkans in the EU have all contributed to stability and progress. Greece has not made territorial claims nor has desired conflict.
Greece is trying to destroy the Macedonian, nation, the final chapter of its genocide campaign. All to solidify its claim to the Macedonian land, which it never had except for the last 90 years.
@MKwarrior first of all says who you? if Greece was trying to destroy anything then it would never have taken the diplomatic approach for years. Greece does not object to the equal use of the Macedonia name and has always sought nothing but socio-economic growth between both nations for peace & stability. Thats ridicoulous Greece has never made territorial claims on anyone. While it seems that you have to resort to spewing hate against Greece, and Greek ppl. Greece and Greek ppl just want PEACE.
@MK - The Greeks, ever since Isocrates use a CULTURAL definition of who is a Greek, a Hellene, while the Skopjan revisionists are trying to play the race card everytime, attempting to claim that the genes of the Greeks are "polluted". The skopjian view is so racist and you cannot possibly claim any purity whatsoever, as you were under Ottoman rule longer than Greece. Is Obama African, Indonesian or American. He is a person leading a country. We are all human, and are not cats and dogs my child
@chovek. What is wrong with you man? Nobody invaded Macedonia. Your grandmother was living in ottoman Turk territory. If it wasn't for this your grandmother and you would be muslim now. You really don't have a good historical understanding and should stop listening to grandma stories my dear boy!!!
@blogfyr102 "Nobody invaded Macedonia" ? Are you serious or do you want to come across as a dipshit deliberately ? of course it was invaded, in 1912 - ask any Turk if it was or wasn't - you simply removed Ottoman rule from Macedonia and imposed your own rule 3 ways with your friends the Serbs & Bulgarians !
@blogfyr102 it is you who does not have any understanding of modern balkan history, not me. You conveniently leave out the parts that make you look bad. My grandma has more knowledge of the truth you will ever have, for she lived through the hard times you Fucktard !
@blogfyr1001 The very fact that Greece, Bulgaria & Serbia mobilized armies to invade Macedonia together with the fact that very alliance fought each other for the territory of Macedonia should tell you that it never belonged to Greece, Bulgaria & Serbia.
@MK - Greece never occupied anything. Greece simply libertated Macedonia from Ottoman rule. It is the Greek perogative to reclaim its lands. Together with Bulgaria and Serbia we were able to get our Greeks back. As much as you don't like it, in 1913, the area you call Macedonia contained 41% Turk, 27% Greek, 27% Albanians, and the rest were minor..but in Ottoman official census there was NO macedonians. Also, No Macedonians were part of the Balkan Wars - Where were you?. Don't give me 'spirit'
Greece labelled its occupied territories after 1913, as "new territories" and 'occupied territories". Look it up since you lack basic understanding, did you know your first President was Albanian..., HAHAHA look at yourself in the mirror before posting here child
The occupation and genocide by greece over Macedonia and the Macedonian people is finally being exposed, you occupied 50% of Macedonia but you will never take its spirit, history and people no matter how hard you try, modern day racists.
@chovek - any war stories have nothing to do with Greeks, they would be about the Ottomans or your own communist struggles within Yugoslavia. Greece never occupied FYROM. Ottomans and Slavs on the other hand occupied Greek territories like Ancient Macedonia, which is now ours not yours - Get over it!!
@chovek - if your grandmother spoke Macedonian it would be greek. Your grandmother perfectly understands Bulgarian and you understand Bulgarian. Furthermore, Bulgarians understand you too. Your language is and ALWAYS has been a Bulgarian dialect. You asked me to show you "just one" piece of evidence that you are Fyromian and I showed you just the tip of the iceberg of what is compelling that even your own people question (incl your leaders).
@blogfyr1001 No i'm not talking about the Greek civil war, my grandmother is 98 years old, born in 1912 ! Despite her age she has a very good memory, she has seen alot of tough times like the German & Bulgarian occupation in WW2. I can honestly state she never has known Bulgarian as a language she has spoken, i think i know my grandmother alot more than you do by stating otherwise, so please spare me that bs !
@blogfyr1001 she is not from the occupied Greek part of Macedonia by the way, she is from the part that Serbia took, today's Republic of Macedonia. She has never known Greek or Bulgarian !

We are not related to the northern Greeks who produced leaders like Philip and Alexander the Great. We are a Slav people and our language is closely related to Bulgarian.
There is some confusion about the identity of the people of this country.
[FYROM's Ambassador to Canada, Gyordan Veselinov in an interview with the Ottawa Citizen, 24 February 1999]
The history of the construction of a Macedonian national identity does not begin with Alexander the Great in the fourth century B.C. or with Saints Cyril and Methodius in the ninth century A.D. as Macedonian nationalist historians often claim.

@jamie070194 Explain this:
1) In 1877, according to a British ethnological map of Macedonia (British E.Stanford 1877), the region of Macedonia was mainly inhabited by Greeks and in smaller amounts, Albanians, Turks, Vlahs, Serbs and Bulgarians. No mention on the existence of a separate "Macedonian" nation in the Balkans what so ever.
bazinga649 1 year ago
@jamie070194 Explain this: 2) In 1906 the Ottoman census of Hilmi Pasha for the area of Macedonia doesn't again report any "Macedonian" nation:
423,000 or 41.71% Muslims (Turks and Albanians)
259,000 or 27.30% Greeks
178,000 or 18.81% Bulgarians
13,150 or 1.39% Serbs
73,000 or 7.72% others
bazinga649 1 year ago
@jamie070194 Explain this:
3) In 1926 the League of Nations doesn't report any "Macedonian" nation in Southern Macedonia:
1,341,000 or 88.8% Greeks
2,000 or 0.1% Muslims (Turks, Albanians)
77,000 or 5.1% Bulgarians
91,000 or 6.0% others (mainly Jews)

These names have been in most modern Greek families for centuries. These names are in my own family tree going back to 17th century (and earlier). @NikolaPetrovski88 Modern Slavs, both Bulgarians and Macedonians, cannot establish a link with antiquity, as the Slavs entered the Balkans centuries after the demise of the ancient Macedonian kingdom. no inscription in Greek earlier than the late fourth century B.C. has been found in any part of Macedonia.

@NikolaPetrovski88 - At the end of the day - you answered it perfectly - you are cross Serbs/Bulgarians and nothing more. In the liberation of Macedonian territory from Ottomans - Where were the Macedonians in the history logs? Only Serbs, Bulgarians, Montenegroans, Greeks & Turks fought in the Balkan Wars.
bazinga649 1 year ago
@bazinga649 Say what you want, Macedonia was not liberated, but occupied. there is only one part thats liberated and thats the Republic of Macedonia. Macedonians thought for Macedonia and died for Macedonia. Nikola Karev, was an ethnic Macedonian, who by the way lived before Tito, and considered himself and the people of Macedonia as Ethnic Macedonians - this is evident in Krushevo Manifest
NikolaPetrovski88 1 year ago

Whether Greece is broke or not, is irrelevant. The fact is NO EU country would EVER give FYROM money to build a museum for Alexander. Doesn't this tell you who EU supports - your version of history or the rest of the World (it's not just Greece's version) !!
blogfyr105 1 year ago
@MK - Greeks don't need to face the truth - we already know it. FYROM needs to face the REAL truth. Macedonia is and has always been the northern province of Greece for more than 2,000 years. The Macedonian people of Greece have always been Hellenic or Greek, just like the people of Cyprus have been Greek. Unfortunately, they have never had the opportunity to unite with the motherland.
@MK you have a bigger problem in that you have NO explanation why your 'language' and 'people' started >1940
blogfyr105 1 year ago
@MK - you are very racist - continually talking about 'purity'. How "pure" were the Greeks (and yes, this includes the Macedonians, of course) after the massive population mix up that followed Alexander´s expansion into Asia, and the subsequent establishment of the Hellenistic kingdoms, is not even an issue. What matters is the Hellenization of Asia and the near East and not the bean counting of which Hellenic, or call it European genes mixed up with what Persian or other Asian genes.
blogfyr105 1 year ago
Haha MK Warrior so my comment was racist? Face the truth! You have slavic origins and you came to occupy a piece of what is historically considered Macedonia. Only you became enamored with the ancient history and based your existence on this history. Your President Grigorov stated after all: "we are slavs.we don't have any connection with Alexander the Great".
Sdii 1 year ago
DNA evidence shows who has more slavic blood, and its greece. We celebrate all of our history and are not ashamed of it like you are. "greek Macedonia', with 1 million turkish Christian settlers. Who needs to face the truth now?
MKwarrior 1 year ago
@MK you are so poor at history because you learnt the wrong version. Smyrni, Constantinople, and Asia Minor were always Greek before the Ottomans. The percentage of Greeks living in Asia Minor was higher even that mainland Greeks. My family which is pure Greek originates from Asia Minor and for 400 years kept ALL language, religion and customs despite being forced to change by Turks. Greeks kept their identity for 400yr. We don't have to identify as Macedonians 'cos its part of Greece not a race
blogfyr105 1 year ago
@MK - Did you realise that in 2009, the European Union had last year approved 14 million euros of their funds to the Greek Government for building a museum dedicated to Alexander the Great.

Sdii 1 year ago

MKwarrior 1 year ago
@MKwarrior first of all says who you? if Greece was trying to destroy anything then it would never have taken the diplomatic approach for years. Greece does not object to the equal use of the Macedonia name and has always sought nothing but socio-economic growth between both nations for peace & stability. Thats ridicoulous Greece has never made territorial claims on anyone. While it seems that you have to resort to spewing hate against Greece, and Greek ppl. Greece and Greek ppl just want PEACE.
Smartssssss 1 year ago

Chovek1 1 year ago
@MK - Greece never occupied anything. Greece simply libertated Macedonia from Ottoman rule. It is the Greek perogative to reclaim its lands. Together with Bulgaria and Serbia we were able to get our Greeks back. As much as you don't like it, in 1913, the area you call Macedonia contained 41% Turk, 27% Greek, 27% Albanians, and the rest were minor..but in Ottoman official census there was NO macedonians. Also, No Macedonians were part of the Balkan Wars - Where were you?. Don't give me 'spirit'
blogfyr102 1 year ago

@chovek - any war stories have nothing to do with Greeks, they would be about the Ottomans or your own communist struggles within Yugoslavia. Greece never occupied FYROM. Ottomans and Slavs on the other hand occupied Greek territories like Ancient Macedonia, which is now ours not yours - Get over it!!
blogfyr1001 1 year ago
@chovek - if your grandmother spoke Macedonian it would be greek. Your grandmother perfectly understands Bulgarian and you understand Bulgarian. Furthermore, Bulgarians understand you too. @blogfyr1001 No i'm not talking about the Greek civil war, my grandmother is 98 years old, born in 1912 ! I can honestly state she never has known Bulgarian as a language she has spoken, i think i know my grandmother alot more than you do by stating otherwise, so please spare me that bs !
