Its a pity that Sammy, whom I adore as an entertainer, too a bad turn politically towards the end of his great life. I agree with you, onlyjoetee. An iconic performer, as Sammy undoubtably was, may be motivated by the best of intentions, but politicians will use them for their own political purposes. Having said that does not diminish the great regard I have for Sammy as an artist. He lays claim to being the greatest all round entertainer we have ever seen.

As for supporting our troops while voicing our disapproval-that is what most of us do. In Canada race does,and has always, caused enormous conflict and in some parts of your country the aboriginals still occasiponally end up having NI style conflicts with the locals and the government. Dissing the troops during this war is unfair when clearly they are the LAST link in a flawed chain of Command. I think your statement shows perhaps that you or anyone close to you has never been called into service. I'm sure many of our soldiers today don't support this war, but they have chosen to stand in harms way so American Civilians can (without fear of reprisal for their beliefs) make unresearched slogan statements on Youtube in peace and safety.
