haha still a good video despite the low angle of the camera! The good thing about seeing that is it shows the throttle movements you go through. And since im a little new to mountain sleding still i gotta ask; is it really necessary to feather the throttle?
I have a new HCR 2010.. I hope this new engine is strong as hell..Very good throttle respons, that I like :) Have only 2 mile on it, so derfor I dont know how this maskin will go VS. 09 M8, XP or summit.. This is my first AC ever ;)
@johnzr700 actually your oil pump is always pumping oil, it just pump substantially less at idle. and on an arctic cat you can cut the stock oil pump back by about a 1/3 and it will still over oil. but blipping the throttle after a long pull is always a good thing helps cool the
i do blip the throttle....but i rewatched the vid after your comment and your right. i dont do it near enough. good eye.....althought i dont think its huge, i still should do it more. i usually give it a couple shots to engage the clutches.....let the motor slow me a bit, but on super steep it doesnt matter...its not going to slow you down.
Not only what johnzr700 said, but after you come off of a long WOT pull, the piston tops are hotter than hell. When you cut the throttle and go back to idle, the piston tops remain hot for quite a while. Blipping the throttle cools them down with each incoming fuel/air charge and reduces the chance of damaged pistons. Ex.)Jetted lean. Long climb, shut it down quick to angle for another pull, then back on the throttle. Boom. Hole in piston. Not so much a problem with rich jetting or EFI....
But still possible. What few realize is that incoming fuel is actually the primary coolant. Through vaporization, fuel disperses great amounts of heat. All that said, great video and blip the flipper more often.
thanks for the info, much appreciated. i did know that blippin the throttle cools and lubes the motor i just didnt realize how important it is when coming down after a long pull. thanks! i have only been riding the tains for 2 years, still a newbie. 1200 miles so far......

Which would be the better choice for the 2010 HCR? The Boon Docker Turbo or the Cutler Turbo?
