Hey guys... I hope you don't think you are doing historical fencing. Your armors are horrible. Absolutly not historical. Is this fantasy LARP or what?
If they had real armors, wouldn't it be a waste to smash each other and constatly damage them ? This is what they are doing and the armor is based on that.
Yes, but they can use replicas... these are fantasy armors. You'll never find these in any museum or on any illumination. If it's historical fencing they should have as realistic armor, costumes and weapons as possible.
Everybody in this group knows that the armor is not Historical, it was made to suit our needs. +good replicas are sometimes expensive and hard to maintain.
You should also know that the spectator doesn't care if its perfect or not, they just want a good show.
If is it so and it shouldn't be historicaly accurate... it's ok I think. Spectators are usualy dumb and they care only about action so your right. Anyway I prefer to show them how was it been in the middle ages and some replicas are affordable. I've got infantry armor for 15th century and it wasn't very expensive. Shoulderparts, gauntlets, sallet helmet, chainmail, padded coat and of course costume.
